Jing Chen was stunned for a moment. He put down Su Wan’s hand and pulled her gently into his arms. “Okay, let’s go home.”
Su Wan nestled in Jing Chen’s arms, feeling even more guilty towards Jing Chen who was being so gentle.

Even when she found out that Bai Lian was pregnant with Jing Chen’s child, she was not as sad as she was now.

Su Wan opened her eyes and took a deep breath. She looked up at Jing Chen and asked carefully, “Jing Chen, do you believe me?”

Jing Chen patted Su Wan’s back like he was coaxing a child.
The car quickly arrived at the villa.
“Jing Chen, I’m sorry.”
Jing Chen carried Su Wan out of the car and only put her down when they entered the house.
Su Wan looked up and finally mustered her courage to say this to Jing Chen.
Jing Chen was puzzled. “Why are you talking about this for no reason?”
Su Wan gritted her teeth and seemed to have made up her mind. “I didn’t return last night and didn’t contact you. Don’t you want to know what happened to me?”
As soon as she finished speaking, Jing Chen covered Su Wan’s lips with his hand. “If you don’t want to say it, it’s not a must for me to know. I won’t force you to say it. If you’re willing to tell me, you can wait for us to unpack everything before telling me slowly?”
After a moment of silence, Su Wan nodded. “Okay.”
Su Wan turned around and was about to go to the bedroom when Jing Chen’s phone rang.
When Jing Chen saw the caller ID, he immediately pulled Su Wan back and picked up the call. He turned on the speaker. “Jing Chen, have you found Wan wan? How is it on your side?”
It was Qin Lan’s voice, her tone mixed with worry and anxiety.
Jing Chen glanced at Su Wan and said into his phone, “Mom, don’t worry. Wan wan is with me. Call Xia Jing and tell her that you’re safe so that she won’t worry too.”
Su Wan didn’t turn around and quietly wiped her tears. She didn’t expect that she would make so many people worry about her after leaving for only one night.
But she had done something she shouldn’t have. She had let everyone down.
On the other end, Qin Lan was obviously relieved. “It’s good that she’s fine. Jing Chen, take good care of Wan wan. Otherwise, send her back to the old mansion. I’ll take care of her.”
“It’s okay, Mom. You don’t trust me, do you?” Jing Chen smiled bitterly.
“Alright, that’s it then. I’m hanging up.”
Qin Lan could not be bothered to say anything more to Jing Chen. After getting Jing Chen’s guarantee, she hung up.
Jing Chen put away his phone and pulled Su Wan back to sit on the sofa. “Wait a minute. We’ll go later.”
Su Wan was puzzled, but Jing Chen did not explain. He only went back and forth between the bedroom and the bathroom. She watched him busy himself.
A few minutes later, Su Wan entered the bathroom.
The water for the shower had been filled. Her usual shampoo and shower gel were placed beside the bathtub, and her clothes were neatly placed on the shelf. The air was filled with steam.
Jing Chen was really meticulous.
Su Wan covered her lips and tried her best to cry softly.
She was barefooted as she removed her clothes and walked into the bathtub.
The steaming heat instantly wrapped around her entire body. Wisps of warmth entered her body, it was comfortable and satisfying.
However, Su Wan looked at the wounds and bruises on her body in a daze. She didn’t need to think to know what caused them to be there.
