My Favorite Game Followed Me! Chapter 491

Early the next day, Anton went to the mage guild so he could send the letters that he had written for his sister and father to them. He couldn’t use his raven to send the high-level mana stones to Anna, since more than likely, the summon would be intercepted due to the fact that mages could clearly perceive the mana stones and even though he currently didn’t know what use the mana stones were for him personally, they’re clearly valuable to the mages.

His letters to his sister informed her that he was doing fine. Anton told her that he was delving the dungeon of Balathar and that he was earning a huge amount of gold coins. He also informed Anna through the letter that since he was earning such a huge amount, once their father arrived, they would purchase a manor or a mansion that would allow their new family members, aka Selena, Belue, and Norma’s relatives, to live comfortably in the kingdom of Ormunda. Anton also wrote that once they had purchased the mansion, he would write to her the address so she would know where to send her letters. Of course, he also informed her sister about the twenty high-level mana stones that he sent with the letter.

Anton’s letter to his father was basically the same, minus the mana stones information. He got an inkling that once they were all settled comfortably in Ormunda, his father would join him in dungeon diving. More than likely, though, his father would create his own group because he knew that Anders wouldn’t be able to delve into the dungeon levels that he would go into.

The delivery cost of the letters was enormous, but to Anton, who was earning such a huge amount of gold coins from dungeon diving, it was negligible.

After he was done with the letters, the next step was to find a magic item that he could send to his sister and his father that would allow them to communicate in real time. Like the magical equivalent of a cellphone.

Anton somewhat doubted that there was such a thing because if there were, his friends on the ship would have informed him that they had been communicating magically with someone in New Drennor.

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t hurt for him to check out the magic shops. By asking the people in the streets, Anton finally stumbled into one of Ormunda’s markets that sold magic stuff. He directly went to the largest shop that he could see, which looked like a mall from Earth. For a moment, Anton had a feeling that he was back on Earth when he entered the mall-like magic shop. The place was fully air-conditioned, and the shops were behind clear glass doors lit with different neon lights. One of the only differences was that the shoppers looked like people who escaped from a Cosplay Convention.

The shoppers were composed of different species wearing costumes that still astonished Anton, which was truly amazing due to the fact that Anton was used to Earth’s media.

For several minutes, Anton just walked around doing some people watching. He tried his best to do so covertly, but he knew that some of the people noticed.

A group of four teenagers, two girls and two boys in their late teens, approached him. The four people were all humans.

“Hello, are you from out of Ormunda?” One of the boys in their group asked.

“Hi! Yes. Is it very obvious?” Anton asked.

“Yes. You look like a poor country boy who stumbled into the city with your eyes and nostrils flaring at every unique thing that you see,” The second boy said, and Anton realized that the four teenagers were malicious.

It was actually the first time in this world that Anton encountered bullies. It was such a unique experience that he planned to enjoy the event. To be honest, he was relieved that the four young people did not have any intention of befriending him since he was not ready to form relationships with new people.

“Are you going to cry?” One of the girls taunted, and Anton almost laughed.

“I might! You’re making me feel scared. Did I do something wrong?” Anton replied, fully embracing the role of a bullied kid.

Of course, he had no intention of hurting any of them. They might be scions of Invincible Wizards, since Anton knew that only the progeny of the powerful would have that spoiled, rotten behavior that the four were exhibiting.

Suddenly, the five of them heard a shout from somewhere.

“Hey! Are you four rotten kids bothering that boy?” The voice said loudly.

The four laughed and ran off. Anton saw that the one who shouted was the merchant who was manning the shop where the five coincidentally stopped.

The man who looked like he was in his late twenties glared at the four young people who ran off.

“Please forgive them. The two boys were my cousins, and the girls were their girlfriends. It’s their day off from the magic academy, and they are spending their day here. They didn’t mean anything by what they said and wouldn’t actually hurt you. My name is Jeremy, and I’m the son of the owner of this shop,” the man introduced himself.

Anton shook Jeremy’s hand and introduced himself, and told the man that he was a diamond rank adventurer.

“I wasn’t going to hurt them. Their behaviors were actually amusing me since it’s the first time I’ve encountered it. I wanted to check what the eventual conclusion would be.”

“I’ve seen it. If the person they taunted was powerful, they would run off immediately, just like what they just did. They knew that most of the powerful people that they accidentally encountered wouldn’t pursue them because this is Ormunda. Those who were weak were made to slink off or cry pathetically.”

Anton laughed and then followed Jeremy into his store. He told the man that he was looking for a magic item that would allow him to communicate with a family member who was in one of the magical academies or one that was in New Drennor.

“If your family is in one of the magic academies, the wizards there wouldn’t allow their students items that would allow them to talk to people outside the school. The only acceptable form of communication is a letter. Regarding items that would allow one to talk to somewhere as far away as New Drennor, only the most powerful Invincible Wizards might have access to such magic,” Jeremy told him.

The answer disappointed Anton, but he was already half-expecting something like that. He then examined the items that Jeremy was selling in their family shops. There were other salespeople and customers in the shops, but Jeremy, the owner’s son, stuck with him. Probably it was either because he was a diamond rank adventurer or that his cousins bothered him before.

At first, Anton had no intention of buying anything in Jeremy’s shop, but he felt embarrassed leaving without purchasing anything, so he bought a pair of enchanted shoes called Shoes of Sliding. They’re basically the magical equivalent of a pair of skates.

Anton then left after he said goodbye and checked the other shops in the mall. It was amusing to see the different magical items that were available for sale. At first, he wondered why most of the items were not made for combat, but through observation, he learned that those types of items were available at the back of the shops, and he wasn’t curious enough about the items to request to see them. The items located at the front part of the shops were plentiful enough to inspire him.
