My five ghostly husbands Chapter 39

"Alright, we want those beds. I also need to buy a wardrobe, some sofa sets, and a few tables," Ruby said, mentally listing everything she wanted for their new home.

The ghost salesperson’s eyes lit up with excitement. "Of course! Right this way!" he exclaimed, leading them through the store. After some time, Ruby finally settled on a wardrobe that felt modern compared to the old-fashioned options around her. She couldn’t understand why many in this world seemed to prefer antiquated styles; surely, there was a balance between old and new? While she appreciated the saying "old is gold," it felt like some things should still be fresh and functional.

After picking out a sleek wardrobe that suited her taste, she turned to the salesperson. "We’re going to explore the market a bit more, but please have all our orders ready when we return," she instructed.

"Of course! Enjoy your shopping, Miss Ruby! We’ll prepare everything carefully and have the bills ready for you," the ghost salesperson replied, giving her a friendly smile.

Ruby nodded, feeling a surge of pride as she looked at her husbands. Their excitement and happiness were evident in their expressions, making her heart swell. It was a feeling she had never truly experienced before, even with all her wealth. Being rich meant little when you had no one to share it with, but now everything felt different.

As they walked through the market, Ruby’s attention was drawn to a clothing shop. She knows her husband’s didn’t have proper clothes, and she felt a sudden urge to help them dress better. "Let’s go inside," she said, leading the way.

The shop was also transparent, showcasing beautiful simple garments displayed on mannequins. Ruby’s eyes sparkled as she took in the sight.

The shopkeeper’s eyes lit up when she noticed Ruby entering. She could instantly tell that Ruby was a big customer, especially since her neighbor had mentioned the success at the furniture shop. Excitement bubbled within her—having such a Big customer walk through her door was a rare opportunity.

"Welcome, Miss!" the shopkeeper greeted warmly, her voice full of enthusiasm. "I’m so glad you’re here! How can I assist you today? Are you looking for something special?"

Ruby smiled at the shopkeeper’s eagerness. "I’m looking for some clothes for my husbands. They need something comfortable yet stylish." She turned to Julian and Milo, whose eyes widened upon hearing her words; they had thought she was buying for herself.

"Of course! We have a wonderful selection for both of them!" The shopkeeper gestured toward various sections of the shop. "Why don’t you both take a look? I’ll help you find something that fits perfectly!"

Milo and Julian exchanged shy glances before stepping closer to the displays, their curiosity piqued. They looked at the robes, but neither dared to touch the clothes.

"Also buy for Adrian and Karl," Ruby said again, her voice barely above a mutter.

However, after a long while, they still hadn’t selected anything. Whenever the shopkeeper suggested an item, they would nod their heads, but they didn’t pick anything up themselves.

Seeing this, Ruby sighed. "Let me help..." she said as she stepped forward. First, she assessed Julian’s complexion and selected some bright-colored robes that she thought would look great on him. Then she turned to Milo and carefully picked a few robes that would complement his style as well.

"These might look good on you both! Why don’t you try them on in the changing room?" Ruby suggested, looking around for the nearest one.

"There’s a changing room over there," the shopkeeper pointed toward a corner where the changing room was located. Even though the shop was transparent, the changing room had a light pink hue, perfectly suiting the overall vibe of the shop. Ruby smiled, hoping this would encourage them to give it a try.

Milo felt shy about changing, so he nudged Julian to go first. Julian, also feeling shy, shot Milo an annoyed glare but eventually headed to the changing room, muttering something under his breath.

After a while, Julian stepped out, and Ruby’s eyes widened in surprise. He looked like a character straight out of a game. The light pastel green robe he wore made his skin appear delicate and soft, while his bright, shiny blue hair fell perfectly down his back. But it was his mossy green eyes that truly captivated her; the gentle hue of the robe made them pop, enhancing their brightness and depth. They sparkled like emeralds under the light, drawing attention and making him look utterly enchanting.

"You’re looking pretty! Even your wife is stunned by your handsomeness," the shopkeeper exclaimed, a big smile on her face. "Your wife has great taste, though."

Julian’s cheeks flushed at the compliment, and he shyly looked down, feeling a rush of warmth. He had never felt so pretty in his life, and the realization made him smile softly to himself.

"Great, pack this one for him... And yeah, try on the others too," Ruby said with a smile, pointing at the light pink robe.

"Wife, but one is enough; it’s expensive..." Julian said, his brows furrowed with worry.

"Your wife is here to pay for you, so go try on the other ones," Ruby replied playfully, trying to ease his concerns. The shopkeeper nodded enthusiastically, adding, "Yes, try some more! You look fantastic! Your wife’s choices are excellent."

With a hesitant but determined nod, Julian headed back to the changing room to try on more robes.

As he emerged in each one, Ruby couldn’t help but notice how each robe enhanced his enchanting features. The delicate fabrics and colors complemented his complexion beautifully, making his mossy green eyes shine even brighter. The shopkeeper observed the transformation too, realizing just how good Ruby’s choices were. She truly understood colors and styles, bringing out the best in Julian and making him look effortlessly stunning.

"Pack those all, and Milo, go change into the olive green-colored one," Ruby instructed.

Milo nodded eagerly, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation as he made his way to the changing room.
