Screams echoed across the battlefield as one Root ninja after another fell victim to the fiery onslaught unleashed by the Uchiha reinforcements. Flames consumed them, leaving nothing but ash and scorched earth.
The once-formidable Root forces were now reduced to barely thirty men.
"Damn it, who dares interfere?"
Shimura Danzo, still reeling from the sudden attack, looked toward the source of the flames. Anger and confusion surged through him. His plan, so carefully crafted, was falling apart.
As the smoke cleared, the silhouettes of the attackers became visible. Their eyes glinted red with the unmistakable tomoe of the Sharingan.
Uchiha.
Danzo's face paled.
"Another group of Uchiha… You planned this, Fugaku," Danzo growled, the realization dawning on him.
"Did you anticipate my ambush? Did you know I'd come for you?"
Uchiha Fugaku sneered. "What did you expect, Danzo? You've tried to harm my clan for years. Did you think I wouldn't be prepared for your schemes?"
"Shimura Danzo!"
The voice of Uchiha Setsuna, the clan's elder, boomed across the battlefield as he stepped forward with his Sharingan blazing. "You've gone too far. Today, you'll pay for your sins against the Uchiha!"
Beside him, Uchiha Tsukasa, the third elder, glared at Danzo with icy hatred. "You've oppressed our clan for too long. The blood of countless Uchihas is on your hands. This ends today!"
Fugaku stepped forward, his Mangekyō Sharingan spinning ominously. "Danzo, this trap you've set is your undoing. Today, you die."
Danzo's expression darkened, but he smirked defiantly. "You think you can kill me, Fugaku? I was fighting on the battlefield before you were even born. I'll carve my way out of this like I always have."
Fugaku's voice turned cold. "We'll see."
"Leave Shimura Danzo to me," Fugaku ordered, addressing his clan. "As for the rest of them… not one escapes."
"Yes!"
The Uchiha reinforcements moved with deadly precision, engaging the remaining Root ninjas. Outnumbered and outmatched, the Root operatives found themselves overwhelmed.
Screams and chaos erupted.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Blade!"
Danzo infused his kunai with Wind Style chakra, transforming it into a sharp, green blade. He lunged toward the nearest Uchiha, aiming for a quick kill.
Clang!
Fugaku intercepted the attack, his own kunai glowing red with Fire Style chakra. Sparks flew as their weapons clashed.
"Danzo," Fugaku said, his voice a low growl. "Your opponent is me."
Danzo's exposed eye widened as the spinning Mangekyō Sharingan locked onto his gaze.
"Illusion."
For a brief moment, Danzo froze, trapped in the powerful genjutsu. But as a Kage-level shinobi, he broke free almost instantly.
Unfortunately, that moment of hesitation was all Fugaku needed.
Puff!
The fiery-red kunai struck Danzo's chest with brutal precision, piercing his heart. Blood spilled freely as the weapon's tip emerged from Danzo's back.
Danzo coughed violently, blood dripping from his lips. His face contorted in pain, yet his visible eye gleamed with something unsettling—a strange calm.
Then, his body vanished like smoke.
"Behind you!"
Danzo's voice came from behind Fugaku. His Wind Style-infused kunai slashed downward, aiming for Fugaku's exposed back.
"Susanoo."
In an instant, the black skeletal form of Susanoo materialized, shielding Fugaku. Danzo's blade collided with it and shattered into pieces.
Before Danzo could react, Susanoo's massive hand swatted him like an insect.
Crash!
Danzo's body was hurled through the air, slamming into the ground with a sickening thud. He lay motionless, battered and broken.
But the body dissolved moments later, revealing it was yet another clone.
In the distance, Danzo appeared, unharmed. Slowly, he began unwrapping the bandages around his right arm and face.
"Fugaku…" Danzo hissed.
When the bandages fell away, a horrifying sight greeted the Uchiha clan. On Danzo's right arm were ten Sharingan, each spinning grotesquely. His right eye, too, held the Sharingan.
"Izanagi," Fugaku muttered, his voice laced with contempt.
Danzo's cold smile widened. "You understand, don't you? These eyes give me power over life and death itself. You can wound me, you can kill me, but as long as I wield Izanagi, nothing you do will last."
Fugaku's expression darkened. "You stole them. You defiled my clan's legacy. And you dare to wield our forbidden techniques."
"All for the sake of the village," Danzo said coldly. "I do what must be done, no matter the cost."
"You twist justice to suit your desires," Fugaku snapped. "Today, even Izanagi won't save you."
The battle between Fugaku and Danzo resumed, the air thick with tension. Meanwhile, the Uchiha clan relentlessly pursued the remaining Root ninjas, ensuring no escape.
Danzo had made one critical miscalculation—he had underestimated the unity and strength of the Uchiha clan.
