Maya Spencer looked at the man with an earnest expression and felt a little embarrassed.
Her eyes dodged around, pretending to say nonchalantly, "It’s all just for show, just acting, doesn’t matter."
Liam Spencer noticed her evasive gaze, gently pinching her little face, kissed her lips unceremoniously, and chuckled quietly.
She said it was all for show, a performance, but Maya didn’t realize that he was indeed kissing her, and every night they were truly sleeping on the same bed.

Three days later, Maya was discharged from the hospital.

Listening to her concerns, the man felt a bit disheartened, as she was thinking of a way out instead of trying to accept him.
Even so, he didn’t reveal his disappointment.
He straightened up, lifted her little face with both hands, and confidently assured, "It won’t happen."
His promise was meaningless and completely unreliable.
Because from the start, he aimed for marriage.
Seeing the man’s promise, Maya felt secure yet troubled, completely not understanding herself anymore, unable to control her emotions.
So she sighed helplessly.
The man looked at her furrowed brow, suddenly bent down, lifting her onto the bed, making her half a head taller than him.
He slightly raised his head, pinched her face, and said, "Take it one step at a time. At least now everything is under our control, at least the current situation is beneficial for both the Hanson Clan and Owen Clan."

Maya frowned again, shaking her leg to break free, but it was futile.
Listening to her ’rejection,’ the man gently bit her once, making Maya shiver.
She took a deep breath, reminding herself she should push him away, but her small hands disobediently landed on his shoulders.

Maya’s obedience was very much to Liam’s liking, and he adored expressing with his body.
The next day was Saturday, the day of their engagement.
Maya only woke up at noon.
Upon opening her eyes and grabbing her phone, she realized that today was her engagement day with Liam.
Although this engagement party was just a farce, as an actor she was being quite unprofessional by sleeping till noon.
As she hurriedly got out of bed, Liam happened to return from outside.
To express her apology, Maya apologized first, saying, "Sorry, I overslept."
