Sophie Smith turned over, extending her arm to wrap around Asher Land’s waist. She opened her sleepy eyes and found Asher attentively looking at her.
"Why did you wake up so early?" Sophie asked groggily.
Did she think he was like her? After a night of passion, she would sleep in until late morning.
But speaking of which, last night she really surprised him, she initiated intimacy with him, and in all aspects — emotionally and physically — she was in sync with him.
"I have to go to the company later." Seeing her awake, he also prepared to get up.
Sophie lay in bed, watched Asher get dressed, and couldn’t help but feel a myriad of emotions.
"Will you come back here today?" she asked softly.
He thought for a moment and nodded.
In the president’s office.
"President Land, I’ve handled everything you mentioned yesterday." Just as he entered the office, the secretary followed him in.
Asher Land opened the computer on the desk and searched for the names Sophie Smith and Wyatt Sterling, as expected, he didn’t see any news about their public disturbance on the red carpet.
Even if some people knew about this, without media hype, the incident wouldn’t create much of a stir and would ultimately fade away.
"Oh, by the way, President Land, Anna has been waiting for you in the lounge for a long time now; she wants to see you," the secretary said.
"I’m not interested in seeing her." He said coldly.
"But Miss Anna has been waiting for several hours..." The secretary hesitated; before Sophie appeared, Anna was the one who spent the most time with President Land, now...
He despised entangled and presumptuous women, and Anna was veering towards what he disliked.
He originally intended to directly ask the secretary to send her away, but after considering it, he didn’t, because she still had her uses.
Anna swayed gracefully into Asher Land’s office, and Asher merely gave her a slight glance.
"What’s the matter?" he asked, pretending not to know.
"President Land, is it because Anna hasn’t been performing well lately that you haven’t come to find Anna for a long time?" Anna said with grievance.
"The fact that I haven’t looked for you just shows that I’m tired of you. If you were a smart woman, you wouldn’t come looking for me anymore."
Anna’s face went pale; Asher’s words were really ruthless. But even knowing this reality, she couldn’t bear to give up. After all, he was standing atop power, capable of turning the tides with a flick of his hand!
"However, if you can do one thing for me, I guarantee all the fame and fortune you desire will be yours," Asher said leisurely.
This was indeed a great temptation; Anna knew that winning Asher Land’s heart was impossible. But with his promise, she could live a life without worries.
"President Land, rest assured, if it’s something I can do for you, I will certainly do it," Anna declared confidently.
Asher Land closed the laptop on the desk, stood up, and walked over to Anna. A sinister smile curled on his lips, and Anna inexplicably felt uneasy, taking a few steps back.
He leaned down, whispering a few words in her ear.
Anna’s body jolted sharply, unable to stop trembling.
"President Land, I, I..."
"You can’t do it?" He raised an eyebrow, "If you can’t, then forget it; I, Asher Land, don’t force others to do things they can’t."
Asher looked at her with some disbelief, "This might ruin your reputation. Are you sure about this?"
"Yes, I’m sure." She had to take a gamble.
