Sophie Smith took a few more steps forward until she was side by side with him.
She cautiously lifted her eyes to glance at him; his expression was somewhat grim.
"How did you know I was here?" she asked softly.
"Sophie, are you running into the fire on your own?" Knowing full well that Wyatt Sterling is tangled in scandal, yet she still went to find him. Facing such a situation, isn’t this something she brought upon herself?
Or is it that Wyatt Sterling holds such importance in her heart that she can’t help but jump into the fire pit?
"I just wanted to find Wyatt Sterling to ask him clearly. I believe he is not that kind of person.
"You..." Asher Land turned around, just about to lose his temper, but when his gaze landed on the corner of Sophie’s forehead, his heart softened instantly.
"Get in the car." He opened the car door and commanded.
Sophie obediently sat in the back seat, deliberately keeping a distance from Asher Land, who was sitting on the other side. After all, he seemed quite fierce now.
After dismissing the reporters, Robert Williams returned to the car.
"Drive the car to the hospital." There was a flicker of barely noticeable worry in Asher Land’s eyes. Her wound urgently needed treatment; otherwise, it would definitely become infected.
Robert Williams drove the car to the nearest hospital. Sophie was just about to get out of the car when he grabbed her wrist.
"Hospitals are crowded and chaotic. Are you afraid you won’t be recognized?" His voice was icy cold, but Sophie knew he meant well for her. Right now, her identity was indeed not suited to appear in public places.
"Go buy antiseptic, gauze, cotton swabs, and painkillers." Asher Land instructed Robert Williams, who was in the driver’s seat.
After hearing this, Robert Williams nodded, quickly got out of the car, and disappeared from Sophie’s sight.
Sophie felt a small warmth flowing in her heart. She didn’t expect that the usually domineering and bad-tempered Asher Land could be so thorough in what he did.
Robert Williams was indeed Asher Land’s capable assistant. In less than ten minutes, he was back.
Asher Land took the medicines from his hand. He took out a cotton swab, dabbed some antiseptic, and gently wiped her forehead.
"Hiss..." The antiseptic hitting the wound stung a bit.
"Does it hurt a lot?" he asked, frowning.
She held back and shook her head.
He was fully focused on treating her wound, his large hands gentle, afraid of causing her pain. For a moment, she was distracted, finding his serious demeanor particularly charming.
After treating her wound, Asher Land instructed Robert Williams to drive back to the Land Family villa.
By the time they returned to the Land Family, it was already late afternoon. Sophie opened her drowsy eyes, still a bit groggy. Asher Land walked to her side, opened the car door, and with a slight exertion, carried her out.
"I can walk by myself, you know." She had just hurt her forehead; she hadn’t broken her leg.
"I want to carry you, is that not okay?"
Could she really say no?
Asher Land carried Sophie back to her room, didn’t linger long, and then walked to the study.
Sophie, feeling bored, took out her phone. As expected, today’s headlines were all about Wyatt Sterling and Anna, and she was even dragged into it.
She recalled watching many interviews with Wyatt Sterling before, where his hard work and talent were revealed. She still didn’t want to believe he would do such a thing.
Sophie stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing somewhat dazedly into the distance.
A fiery red Ferrari sports car caught Sophie’s eye, eventually backing accurately into the Land Family’s garage.
A charming figure emerged from the car, and Sophie didn’t recall ever seeing such a person at the Land Family before.
