Sophie Smith stood on tiptoe, widening her eyes, trying hard to make out the figure in the distance. She could only see Nanny Garcia going out to meet the woman and taking the bag from her hand.
Then Sophie heard Nanny Garcia’s footsteps coming upstairs, and soon after, she knocked on Asher Land’s study door.
"Young master, Miss Irene is here." Nanny Garcia’s voice was full of uncontrollable excitement.
Curiosity continually drove Sophie, as she quietly walked to the door, carefully opening it a crack, and cautiously observing everything outside through the gap.
Unfortunately, she could only see their backs. The girl called Miss Irene by Nanny Garcia casually wrapped her arm around Asher Land’s, and Asher did not refuse. They seemed somewhat intimate.
The first thought that popped into Sophie’s mind was, is this another woman that Asher Land has found?
A surge of anger rose within her. Could he at least show her a bit of respect? She didn’t object to him seeing other women, but could he not do it in front of her?
She instinctively slammed the door shut with force, making a noticeable noise.
Asher Land reflexively glanced towards the master bedroom, only to see the tightly closed door.
"Brother Asher, who’s in your room?" Irene Morton tilted her head, blinking as she asked.
Before Asher Land could answer, Irene skipped towards his room.
"Hey, Irene..." Before he could finish speaking, Irene had already pushed the door open.
Sophie lay on the bed, thinking it was Asher, so she didn’t react, only turning over to lie on her side with her back to him.
"Brother Asher, who’s the person sleeping in your bed?" Irene’s voice rang like a silver bell, and Sophie’s body stiffened as she sat up from the bed.
Irene’s jaw almost dropped to the ground. There was a woman in Asher Land’s room?
Though Irene knew it wasn’t odd for a successful man like Asher to have a few women around him, she didn’t expect he would bring someone home and let her sleep in his bed?
Thinking of this, she felt a sudden unease in her heart.
Asher Land hadn’t taken his eyes off Sophie since entering the room, and it was a gaze that Sophie somewhat feared seeing every night.
At some point, Sophie had changed into the silk nightgown that Asher had personally prepared for her. The smooth fabric clung gently to her soft skin. The nightgown was somewhat transparent, subtly outlining her perfect figure. To Asher, her body was outrageously beautiful, and his Adam’s apple rolled twice involuntarily.
Sophie felt uncomfortable being stared at by these two unexpected intruders, and she awkwardly smoothed her hair, which, though a bit disheveled, added to her an alluring languor...
At this moment, Sophie was one hundred percent alluring to Asher Land.
"Brother Asher, who is she to you?" Irene questioned Sophie’s identity once more.
"She’s already lying in my bed, what do you think?" Asher Land’s lips curved into a faint smile, thinking how nice it would be if she dressed every day.
Alright, he confessed he was being vulgar.
From Irene’s years of understanding Asher Land, she absolutely didn’t believe that Sophie was just a simple woman to him; the look in his eyes revealed something extraordinary.
Sophie felt truly embarrassed and signaled to Asher with her eyes, hoping he would leave at least until she could change her clothes.
But Asher crossed his arms, leaning half against the wall, with a look that said, "I haven’t seen enough yet."
