The man in front of her was neither ostentatious nor indifferent, with a graceful demeanor and a well-suited smile at the corner of his lips.
"Mr. Johnson, hello."
Sophie Smith extended her hand politely to greet him.
In front of outsiders, she could appear educated and reasonable; she just didn’t know why she would become aggressive when facing Asher Land.
"Sophie, Mr. Johnson is the eldest son of Hush Sky Group. It’s an honor for you to endorse their company this time." Sister Sunny said earnestly from the side.
She hadn’t expected Oliver Johnson to really agree to let Sophie endorse their company. With Anna banned and Hazel Quinn jumping ship, Sunny indeed wanted to promote the next ’queen’ of the company. Coincidentally, there was cooperation with Hush Sky Group, so she tentatively proposed the opportunity for Sophie to be their company’s spokesperson. Unexpectedly, Oliver Johnson nodded and agreed without hesitation upon hearing Sophie’s name...
"Indeed, it is my honor. Thank you, Mr. Johnson." Sophie spoke with an unusually detached tone, addressing him politely.
Though Oliver Johnson didn’t quite like how Sophie called him, considering they were not familiar with each other, having only met twice, how could he expect someone to be close to him?
He gestured to his secretary, who understandingly took a document out of the briefcase.
"This file contains Hush Sky Group’s advertising proposal. Take a look, and if you find anything unreasonable, feel free to point it out."
Sunny took the document, flipped through it, and found no issues at all.
"Sophie, do you want to take a look?" Sunny asked.
"No need, Sister Sunny, you can decide for me."
In Sunny’s opinion, Sophie was actually gentle by nature, beautiful and generous, with an elegant temperament, never arrogant. It was no wonder Asher Land was interested in her. Usually, Asher would also tell her to promote Sophie more.
Oliver Johnson curved his lips slightly, it was clear she was indifferent to fame and fortune, not competing or fighting. She didn’t care about her endorsement income nor the advertising plan; she just followed her manager’s arrangements.
"Since you’re not very interested in this matter, why don’t you accompany me for a cup of coffee?" Oliver Johnson stood up and said to her.
"Ah?" Sophie was taken aback; was she really that obvious?
"Sophie, just go accompany Mr. Johnson, I’ll handle the rest." Sunny said.
Alright, she didn’t want to be a killjoy either. Last time at the resort, she hadn’t properly thanked him; now it’s just having a cup of coffee with him. If she tried to evade again, it would seem somewhat ungrateful.
Sophie followed behind him to a nearby coffee shop.
Sitting across from each other, Sophie was unsure what to say, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward for a moment.
Oliver Johnson stirred his cup of coffee and suddenly raised his eyes, carefully observing her.
Sophie met his gaze for one second, two seconds, three seconds...
Yet, he showed no sign of looking away.
"Mr. Johnson, you..."
How long are you planning to gaze ?
"Sorry, I was being abrupt; don’t mind me." Oliver Johnson withdrew his gaze, "Do you want sugar in your coffee?"
"Oh, no thanks." She calmly refused.
She liked the bitter taste of coffee. A cup of bitter coffee could warn her in many ways. When the bitterness spread from her mouth, she could clearly realize that her current life was very much cup of coffee.
