"What’s wrong? Did a cup of coffee stir up your thoughts?"
Seeing her distracted, Oliver Johnson reminded her.
Indeed, this cup of coffee made her think of all sorts of things.
"I’ve watched your movie, and it’s really good."
"Can you voluntarily tell me something?" Oliver Johnson’s eyes couldn’t hide his disappointment.
"Oh, I’m sorry, I... I’m not really good at talking." She awkwardly brushed her hair, seemingly a bit nervous.
He chuckled softly, suddenly remembering something.
"Do you remember? When we were at the Northern Suburb Resort, I said something to you."
"I said, if the time is right, I would give you a chance to repay me."
Sophie Smith remembered. Back then, Oliver Johnson saved Irene Morton, and she wanted to thank him properly. He indeed said that to her.
"So, what do you want me to do?"
"How about this, Hush Sky Group is hosting a party the day after tomorrow; you can attend for me."
Sophie Smith felt a headache coming. If Asher Land knew she went to another party, he’d probably want to kill her!
"I might not have time the day after tomorrow." She softly refused.
"Is that so?" Oliver Johnson asked lightly, which made Sophie Smith feel embarrassed.
Firstly, she actually had time the day after tomorrow, and it didn’t seem right to lie to him.
Secondly, she was now the spokesperson for Hush Sky Group, so attending the party was her obligation.
As for the third reason, well, he saved Irene Morton, and she promised to thank him properly...
"I remembered, I have time the day after tomorrow." She tried to smile, "So, I’ll go."
"Alright." He smiled warmly, raised his hand, bowed his head, and took another sip of coffee.
Oliver Johnson was a patient person. Although they didn’t exchange many words, he remained calm, not wanting her to leave.
Her phone rang untimely, breaking the original silence.
She glanced at it; the caller ID was a number she hadn’t saved, but knew by heart.
"Hello, I’m busy, do you need something?" She spoke a bit unnaturally.
"Busy? Busy with what? Busy flirting with other men?" Asher Land sneered sarcastically.
"What are you talking about? Just say it directly if you have something to say. I don’t have time to chat; I’m discussing work matters."
She figured that wasn’t wrong; though she was drinking coffee, she was having coffee with her ’boss,’ after all, he had recently taken on Hush Sky Group’s ad campaign.
Actually, he called her without any particular reason; he just wanted to feel a sense of presence.
This woman, if he didn’t contact her for a day, she would probably forget him completely.
Seeing the silence on the other end, Sophie Smith didn’t think much and simply hung up the phone.
"Alright, the coffee’s finished; if you have things to attend to, go ahead. Thank you for accompanying me today." Oliver Johnson smiled, and ever since they met today, his lips seemed to always bear that charming curve!
