Sophie Smith’s body stiffened, her legs slightly weak.
Asher Land naturally saw the panic in her eyes, and he was certain that she was guilty of something.
Oliver Johnson had been conversing with Sophie Smith, and noticing her sudden silence, found it peculiar and followed her gaze.
Oliver Johnson’s lips curved slightly, and he stepped forward by two steps.
"President Land, I didn’t expect to see you here."
This woman is really something, even managing to connect with Oliver Johnson.
"Mr. Johnson, I also didn’t expect to meet you here."
Now it was Sophie Smith who found it odd. The two continued their conversation, courteous and jovial, leaving her aside.
Asher Land glanced at her, curled his lips, extended his long arm, and wrapped her in his embrace.
He clearly saw the shock in Oliver Johnson’s eyes.
"I just remembered I have some matters to handle, so we’ll be leaving now." Asher Land naturally looked at the woman in his arm, his big hand lightly brushing her delicate face.
"If President Land has business, then go ahead, I won’t disturb."
"Hmm." Sophie Smith hadn’t had a chance to say goodbye to Oliver Johnson before being pulled by Asher Land’s arm back to the car.
Once in the car, Asher Land released her.
"Sophie Smith, I didn’t expect you to have the potential to become a femme fatale!" He was somewhat annoyed.
"I... I don’t know what you’re talking about..."
Her voice was very weak; she thought he didn’t know about the proposal from fans today, nor did he know she had spent the whole morning alone with Oliver Johnson...
But how was that possible?
"Don’t think I know nothing. You have to remember your identity; you are Asher Land’s woman, so don’t go messing around with other men."
Now it seemed like any random guy wanted to steal his woman?
Damn the man, she was clearly a victim too, yet he indiscriminately humiliated her!
She turned her head away, gazing outside the car, wanting nothing to do with him.
"Did you hear what I said?" He raised his voice.
According to the plot’s development, shouldn’t she bow her head and admit her mistake, then appease him?
He remembered that this woman never would bow down to him.
"Sophie Smith, is it so hard for you to give in?"
"I am not wrong, why should I give in to you."
Robert Williams, sitting in the front driving, felt somewhat awkward. He held his breath, daring not to make a sound.
Upon hearing Asher Land’s voice, Robert Williams hit the brakes hard, steadily stopping the car by the roadside.
"Get out!" He said this to Robert Williams.
Without another word, Robert Williams swiftly got out and closed the car door.
Sophie Smith also didn’t know where the courage came from; she reached out to open the car door, the atmosphere inside was oppressive, she didn’t want to be alone with him. Besides, he kicked Robert Williams out, wasn’t this a sign he was about to lose his temper? So why should she stupidly wait to be bullied by him?
Asher Land held the car door closed.
"I don’t want to make you angry, I guess you must not want to see me right now..."
"Shut up!" He impatiently interrupted her.
"Asher Land, why are you jealous? I didn’t ’flirt around’, don’t misunderstand me!"
Sophie Smith also got upset, her voice unconsciously increased; she was just thinking, why did he pin his unhappiness on her!
Asher Land was taken aback by her outburst, unable to come to his senses for a moment.
"Is your courage growing?"
After a long pause, he finally managed to squeeze out a sentence.
