"Why can’t I knock on your door after ten?" Irene pretended not to understand, "I have something to discuss with Sister Sophie."
"What can’t be said the next day?"
"Alright, alright! I got it." Irene made a face at him and turned to leave, "I won’t disturb your wonderful night together."
Sophie Smith rolled her eyes at Asher Land in annoyance. She really didn’t understand why he had to hint these things to Irene. Didn’t he find it awkward?
Honestly, she still couldn’t figure out what the relationship between him and Irene actually was. She thought Irene liked Asher Land, but if that were true, Irene wouldn’t be able to tolerate the person she loves being intimate with someone else every night, would she?
"You and Irene..." She hesitated.
"Me and Irene, what about us?"
Actually, he’s a smart person. He naturally knew what she wanted to ask; she just wanted to know about his relationship with Irene. He was waiting for her to ask directly, maybe that would prove that, deep down, she cared about him a little.
"Nothing." In the end, she simply suppressed her questions indifferently.
The result was ultimately disappointing for him. She truly couldn’t care less about how many women were around him. He humbly sought a little recognition in her heart, but the truth was, there was no place for him in her heart at all.
He silently took off his jacket and turned to go to the bathroom.
The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Sophie closed her eyes; her mind was blank. She couldn’t help but ask herself again how long they were going to continue .
After a long while, he came out of the bathroom, his black robe accentuating his perfect slender figure. He grabbed a dry towel to casually wipe the water off his hair.
Sophie was sitting earnestly on the sofa. Asher Land shook his head helplessly.
"Why haven’t you taken a shower yet?"
"I, I thought I’d take it later."
"Later? It’s already twelve; how much later do you want to wait?"
"You go to sleep first, I..."
"I wouldn’t do anything to you."
He knew she must be afraid he’d do something to her at night. Did he seem that needy?
"I’ll shower when you’re asleep." Sophie was very determined.
He had no choice but to dry his hair and lie on the bed, really at a loss with this woman.
Seeing Asher Land go to sleep, Sophie finally shuffled into the bathroom.
The whole day left her physically and mentally exhausted, but after a hot shower, she felt much better.
She climbed into bed quietly and lay beside him peacefully.
A big hand immediately circled her body.
"You, you’re still awake?" She tentatively tried to break free, but he held her tightly.
"How can I sleep without you beside me?" His lazy voice surrounded her ears, "Should we discuss your skills in bed?"
"Actually, I like it when you’re more proactive, as for the positions..."
What he said next was entirely explicit. Sophie was stunned beside him, her face blushing, but she couldn’t burst out. She was afraid he’d suggest some real action, and then she’d be in real trouble.
"Have you said enough?"
Every sensitive nerve in Sophie’s body was teased by him. This man’s lips were as formidable as his body.
"What’s wrong? You reacted? If you want to..."
"No way! What you say doesn’t concern me at all!"
