This morning, Sophie woke up especially early. She turned to look at Asher Land’s handsome face, staring at him blankly.
She slowly leaned closer to his face, pressing her lips together.
"What are you trying to do?" Feeling a familiar presence, he suddenly opened his eyes.
Could she say she wanted to steal a kiss from him?
Not thinking much of it, probably still half-asleep, Asher closed his eyes and prepared to go back to sleep. However, within seconds, he suddenly realized.
"You want to kiss me?" He curved his lips into a confident and smug expression.
"You’re overthinking..." Feeling embarrassed as if her thoughts had been guessed correctly, Sophie thought she must be out of her mind. Why would she want to take advantage of him so early in the morning?
"If you want to kiss me, just say so. Don’t sneak around."
He was convinced that she had those intentions.
"I really don’t. Just sleep; I won’t bother you anymore." She turned away from him, pulling the blanket over her head, her muffled voice coming from underneath.
Holding her in his arms, he found her demeanor somewhat amusing.
"What are you shy about?"
He sighed deeply on purpose, then continued, "Whatever you want, I’ll fulfill it for you, especially if it means you want to kiss me?"
"From now on, you will be my one and only, and I’ll spoil you for a lifetime."

To say she wasn’t moved would be a lie. She never imagined someone would one day say they wanted to spoil her for a lifetime.
"Don’t sweet-talk me. If you can spoil me for a year, I’d be happy." She didn’t know if she was being self-deprecating or helpless; she still felt Asher Land’s words were a bit unrealistic.
Feelings have an expiration date; one day, they might sour.
She didn’t know why she suddenly had such thoughts. Maybe, in the depths of her heart, she wasn’t too confident about this relationship. It’s not because she didn’t love him, but because the external obstacles were too great.
"You’re doubting me?" His tone was a bit displeased.
"Sophie, I’m serious when I say this."
"Alright, so is it time for me to test you then?" If that’s the case, at this point, doesn’t it mean it’s also time for her to negotiate her terms with him?
"How do you want to test me?" For some reason, he felt a vague unease, sensing he had dug a pit for himself and now she was pushing him into it.
"Well..." She pretended to be deep in thought, while inside, she was frantically calculating.
Christopher’s health is slowly improving now. Asher Land agreed to temporarily halt pressuring Hush Sky, so Oliver Johnson shouldn’t do anything excessive to Christopher.
She once took an indefinite leave due to Christopher’s illness but seeing the current situation, Christopher is unwilling to see her because of her relationship with Asher Land. He’d rather be with Oliver Johnson, which leaves her with no choice but to let Christopher stay by Oliver’s side.
However, staying at home idle forever isn’t a solution, so she decided to return to work.
"I want to go to the company today. Sister Sunny arranged a lot of plans for me..."
"You’re pregnant and still want to work?"
What’s this woman thinking? Asher Land couldn’t possibly support a woman? Why does she need to earn that meager contract fee?
