"It’s clean now, isn’t it?" She mischievously picked up the little dog that had just ’bathed’ and shook it in front of him, his steps subconsciously stepped back.
"Throw it out once it’s clean!" He didn’t want to see that furry thing for another second.
"Won’t it get dirty again if it’s thrown outside?" She had no intention of doing that.
She carried it to the living room and brought over a hairdryer and a dry towel.
Believe it or not, that dog was quite at ease. It lay on Sophie Smith’s towel-covered lap, squinting slightly, enjoying Sophie’s gentle action of drying its fur.
The whole day, Sophie Smith was playing with the dog, and thus, Boss Land was left out.
It was past eleven at night, and she still showed no intention of going to bed.
She was on the couch watching TV, and the little pup obediently lay at her feet.
She opened a bag of snacks and fed it bit by bit.
Asher Land grabbed the snacks from her hand and tossed them on the coffee table.
"Time to sleep," he said aloud.
Ignoring her, he lifted her horizontally and walked upstairs.
"Asher Land, you don’t keep your word. You promised to listen to me today..." she complained.
"How am I not keeping my word?" He carried her back to the living room and sat on the sofa, but Sophie Smith’s joy lasted only a few minutes before he coldly spoke again.
He pointed at the large clock on the wall and chuckled lightly.
"The one-day deadline of being your servant is up."
Sophie Smith inwardly lamented. She spent the whole day playing with the dog and forgot to exercise her rights as the ’master’.
Seeing her upset little face, Asher lightly pecked her cheek, then carried her to the master bedroom.
He placed her on the bed and tucked her in.
"Expecting mothers need to rest, you must sleep before 10:30 from now on."
"No high heels allowed."
"Only two hours of computer or phone use per day."
"Must eat breakfast on time, oh, not just breakfast—three meals a day."
"Asher Land, you’re so annoying," Sophie murmured, turning over to face away from him.
"You dare not listen?"
A blatant threat, an outright threat!
"Fine, I’ll listen..." she muttered, sulking and burrowing into the blanket.
She’s not sure if she’s developed a pregnancy phobia, but she gradually started feeling a bit restless and uneasy.
She began to look forward to the arrival of this child, but at the same time feared any mishaps, that any mistake would cost her this child.
Asher Land took a shower and came back, finding she still hadn’t fallen asleep.
He lifted the blanket and lay beside her.
The moment he lay down, she reached out, hugged his waist, and rested her head on his firm chest.
"What’s happening?" He was somewhat baffled by her sudden gesture.

Ordinary pregnant women might be fine, but Asher Land, with his endless list of do’s and don’ts, meant she’d have to stay home and rest every day. She’d feel stifled.
"No worries, endure a little longer. Once you give birth, we can do it every night, alright? I’ll make sure you’re satisfied," Asher Land comforted her solemnly.
