"Asher Land, can you give me just a bit of personal space? Right now, I just want to be alone," she said to him in a somewhat pleading tone.
"No," he answered with unusual certainty, his tone even a bit arrogant. "You are my woman, so I will take care of you."
"I am not your woman, at least not willingly. It's you who forced me!" She wasn't crazy, she couldn't possibly volunteer for that.
"Shut your mouth." Asher Land clearly didn't want to hear her say such things. His fists were clenched tightly, veins bulging on his forehead, wishing he could strangle her on the spot.
"My mouth is on my body, if you can't stand it, if you can't stand it, then just kick me out." The determination in her eyes infuriated him to no end. He raised his hand, and Sophie Smith lifted her head in response, closing her eyes.
But the anticipated slap did not land on her face. His hand stopped mid-air, and in the end, he merely slammed it hard against the wall.
"Sophie Smith, don't push your luck with me!"
Push her luck? Did she? She was merely stating a fact.
She wasn't a clever woman. A clever woman should be completely compliant with Asher Land.
Asher Land approached her, exuding a dangerous aura from head to toe.
Yet the stalemate didn't last for more than a few minutes. Asher Land surprisingly compromised, leaving the hospital room without continuing to be harsh on her. As for the reason, he really didn't know.
Perhaps he considered the fact that she was a patient?
Asher Land personally completed the discharge procedures for her, then sent her back to her apartment, taking care of every detail.
Sophie Smith was somewhat grateful to him, but that did not mean she could forgive him.
Asher Land took out a box of medicine, carefully following the instructions to prepare it, and then handed it to her.
Why was he suddenly so kind to her? Just now in the hospital, he looked as if he couldn't wait for her to die.
Without thinking too much, she took the medicine and obediently finished it.
Asher Land ran into the kitchen and washed some fruits and brought them out.
This truly amazed her. Big Boss Land actually washed fruits for someone to eat?
She hesitated to pick up an apple. Should she doubt if it was a poisoned apple?
"Do you want me to peel it for you?" Asher Land took the apple from her hand.
"No need, thank you." She wouldn't dare trouble him, "Apple peel is nutritious, no need to peel it."
She took a big bite of the apple, treating it as if it were Asher Land, biting it more and more vengefully.
"What if I am so gentle that you actually fall in love with me one day? I don't like being pestered by women." He sighed deliberately, shamelessly saying.
Where on earth did this man get such arrogance, conceit, and narcissism from?
She thought, even if the sky fell, it was absolutely impossible for such a thing to happen, absolutely impossible.
At seven in the morning, Eva Miller called and said she had successfully entered the cast. Groggy, Sophie Smith just responded with 'yeah yeah' a couple of times and then continued to fall back asleep.
"So early, whose call was that?" Asher Land's lazy voice sounded in her ear. It seemed he too was woken up by Eva Miller's phone ringtone, and his strong hand pulled her into his embrace.
"Sophie Smith, why do I hear a man's voice? Where are you now?" Eva Miller seemed to have discovered a new continent, shouting excitedly, and Sophie Smith's sleepiness vanished without a trace.
