She didn’t want Edward to think there was anything intimate or inappropriate between her and Asher Land.
"No, I cannot." He replied with unusual certainty.
"I’m begging you." Sophie cast a glance at Edward, feeling a bit uneasy.
"I won’t agree to your request." Asher Land snorted coldly, "Get in the car."

She didn’t know what Edward would think, but she knew Asher Land definitely wanted to embarrass her at the moment, yet what could she do? She had no ability to refuse him, none at all.
Sophie Smith turned around, hesitantly walking to Edward’s side.
"I’m sorry, Edward. President Land is here to discuss movie matters with me, I have to go first." Edward smiled and nodded in agreement, habitually brushing her hair with his hand.
