When everyone saw Sophie Smith get into Asher Land’s car, the gossip started up again.
"Isn’t that Sophie Smith, the lead actress of City of Desire? Ha, it looks like there’s definitely some unspeakable secret behind how she got this role!"
"Yeah, who knows how many times she accompanied President Land to get this role, she looks quite innocent, but she’s just a scheming bitch~."

Edward Harrison’s face was a bit pale. He clenched his fists unconsciously, his tall body trembling slightly. He watched the car disappear from sight, with an emotion in his eyes that was hard to discern.
"Who is he to you?" Inside the car, Asher Land’s eyes were icy. He asked disapprovingly. He remembered seeing that man once; she hugged him at the school gate. He’s a sharp guy, so she couldn’t expect to dismiss him this time with the typical ’just friends’ excuse.
"You already know in your heart, so why ask?" Sophie understood she couldn’t hide from his eyes, she just hoped he wouldn’t hurt Edward.

Asher Land slammed on the brakes. Due to the inertia, Sophie’s body was thrown forward harshly.
"He’s the one I like."
The one she likes? Ha, she finally spoke the truth! Even though he didn’t want to hear it, it was better than her falsely telling him that man was just an ordinary friend.
"Oh, then should I consider how to get rid of this thorn in my side, this nuisance?" Asher Land sneered, "You’re getting bolder, daring to meet with another man behind my back?"

Asher Land’s hand tightly gripped the steering wheel, wishing he could crush it. Sophie didn’t know why he was angry. He disliked hearing lies, but he also disliked hearing the truth. "Shut up!" Asher Land sneered; he knew what she was thinking. He didn’t need her to remind him at every moment.

Sophie’s phone suddenly rang; it was her assistant, Julia Brown, calling.
