As I sat on the throne, anticipation building inside me, I couldn't help but feel a strange excitement buzzing through me. The day had finally arrived—the day when important figures from the Underworld were coming to Nazarick. Today was an "official" meeting, but deep down, it felt more like a family reunion with a few formalities sprinkled in.
From what I had been told, the guests included Ajuka Beelzebub, Sirzechs Lucifer, Serafall Leviathan, Grayfia Lucifuge, Rias, her peerage, and Sona with her peerage as well. Rias and Sona were coming for more personal reasons—they were my lovers. And, well, if I'm being honest, most of Rias' peerage was too. I could already imagine how Rias and Sona would react once they saw me in my full royal form. The thought made me grin.
Even though they were familiar with the regular me—the relaxed, laid-back version—they had never seen me like this. The "royal" me. It was almost like I was a kid excited to show off a new toy or a special skill. I couldn't help but feel that bit of pride mixed with nerves. Oh God, I really am a kid, I thought to myself.
Beside me, the guardians of Nazarick stood in a line, all of them wearing serious expressions that reflected the gravity of the event. Even I didn't know why they were so intense. Sure, on paper, this was an official meeting between the Underworld and Nazarick, but everyone knew that wasn't the real reason. Sirzechs was my brother-in-law, Serafall was both my sister-in-law and one of my lovers, and Grayfia... well, she had recently agreed to go on a date with me. So, really, it was more personal than political.
The only person I hadn't met in person yet was Ajuka Beelzebub, and from what I'd heard, he was more the calculating, analytical type.
Still, the formality of the situation required a certain decorum, and I was expected to act the part of the ruler of Nazarick. I adjusted my posture on the throne, sitting up straight and exuding an air of confidence.
Let's give them a show, I thought, a smile tugging at the corners of my mouth.
The large double doors of the throne room slowly creaked open, and the echo of footsteps filled the room. My guests had arrived.
Sirzechs was the first to enter, his regal aura filling the room as he stepped inside. His crimson hair and calm demeanor commanded attention. Following closely behind was Grayfia, the epitome of grace and maid-like kink.
Serafall entered next, her usual playful self was toned down today, as she wore a more serious expression. Ajuka came last, his presence giving off a calculating and composed vibe that seemed to fit his reputation. I have a feeling Demiurge will get along with him.
Sona and Rias entered after the formal group, both their peerages following behind them.
I rose from the throne, looking down at them with an air of authority. Despite the personal relationships I had with most of them, it was important to maintain a certain level of formality, at least at the start.
"Welcome to Nazarick," I said, my voice echoing through the grand hall. I kept my tone steady, projecting the kind of confidence a ruler should have. "I hope your journey was smooth and without complications."
Since they travel through [Gate] there shouldn't be any problem.
Sirzechs stepped forward, bowing slightly in a show of respect before speaking. His voice was deep, carrying the weight of his position as one of the four great Satans. "Thank you for your hospitality, Lord Alexander of Nazarick. We are honored by the invitation and the opportunity to discuss matters of importance between the Underworld and Nazarick."
There was a brief pause before Serafall chimed in, her tone more lighthearted but still formal. "Yes, we're all very interested in seeing what Nazarick has to offer. It's not often we get to visit a place like this." Her eyes flicked to me with a playful glint, hinting at our more personal relationship, but she kept it professional.
Ajuka Beelzebub, who had remained quiet up to this point, now spoke, his voice smooth and measured. "Indeed, it's a rare opportunity to witness the strength and power of such an esteemed place. I look forward to our discussions."
I nodded in acknowledgment, keeping my expression composed. "I appreciate your kind words. Nazarick is honored to welcome such esteemed guests. While this meeting is of official nature, I believe it also serves as a chance to strengthen the bonds between us—both political and personal."
At this, Grayfia stepped forward, her voice was calm and respectful. "We recognize the importance of this alliance, not only for the Underworld but for all our futures." Her silver eyes met mine briefly, and I could sense that, despite her calm exterior, there was something more personal in her words, especially considering the date we had planned.
I gestured to the round table that had been set up for the meeting. "Shall we take our seats? There is much to discuss."
As everyone began moving toward the table, I noticed Rias and Sona exchanging glances, their eyes flicking toward me with a mix of amusement and surprise. Clearly, they were not used to seeing me in such a formal role. I caught Rias' gaze and gave her a quick wink, which made her lips twitch into a small smile. Sona, the more serious one, gave me a raised eyebrow but couldn't hide the slight curve of her lips either.
Once everyone was seated, I took my place at the head of the table, my guardians flanking me on either side.
