She explained, and he was just supposed to believe her?
He rose, his cold, shadowed eyes sweeping over her, his voice as chilling as ever. "There are clothes in the wardrobe. Go change."
Sophie understood his concise command. He was letting her off the hook.
She immediately handed the towel back to him.
Sophie saluted and turned to open the wardrobe.
Next to rows of neatly arranged men’s attire hung a multitude of ladies’ clothes, in all sorts of delicate and gorgeous styles.
Sophie’s fingertips brushed over the various lavish garments, finally stopping on a relatively conservative skirt.
Taking the skirt, she went into the bath chamber.
The man sitting on the sofa saw her actions and scoffed, "It’s not like I haven’t seen. What’s the point of hiding?"
Women... utterly ridiculous. On the sandy beach, they’d wear bikinis for everyone to stare at freely, but indoors, they’d act all prim and proper, unwilling to even show an arm.
After changing into the skirt, Sophie saw Thomas Shannon getting dressed in front of the wardrobe.
He unhurriedly pulled on his trousers. Hearing the sound, Thomas Shannon turned his head, his eyebrow tips slightly raised. "Ready?"
Thomas Shannon said nothing, continuing to put on his shirt. He fastened one button, then beckoned to her.
Sophie pretended to be dumb.
"Maniac!" His irritated voice cut through the air.
Sophie had to bite the bullet and step forward. "What is it?" she asked, her voice dry.
"My buttons. Do you know how to do them?"
"I don’t think so..."
Playing dumb? Who couldn’t do that? Sophie thought she was doing a rather convincing job.
Thomas Shannon was actually amused by her. Gripping her chin, he tilted her head up. "If I give you chopsticks, would you know how to eat rice?"
"Before my patience runs out, lift your hand and button them for me!"
"Alright." Sophie resignedly lifted her hand and fastened his shirt buttons one by one.
She had to admit, black really suited him. His devilish charm carried a potent aura, perfectly showcasing the inherent temperament of an arrogant noble young master.
Thomas Shannon noticed the little maniac staring straight at him, not a hint of shyness in her gaze, and his mood lightened somewhat.
He lowered his head, his handsome face drawing close to hers, his thin lips brushing hers almost imperceptibly. "Mesmerized, hmm?"
Sophie snapped back to her senses and turned her head away. "No."
"Ha ha." Thomas Shannon dismissed her denial as mere stubbornness. With long strides, he walked out first.
Only then did Sophie move, following him out of the bedroom.
There was a medical room. The castle’s medical room housed every piece of advanced international equipment imaginable. The doctors, too, were family doctors chosen through a rigorous selection process.
Charlie River had been waiting since early morning. Seeing Thomas Shannon arrive with Sophie, he bowed. "Young Master, the doctor is already waiting inside."
Sophie looked at the medical room, easily on par with a hospital. What on earth did Thomas Shannon do for a living? Even a tycoon wouldn’t usually have a dedicated medical room at home. Besides, this medical center was quite large.
Thomas Shannon wasn’t paying attention, and the maniac behind him lagged behind.
Thomas Shannon had to stop and wait for her. He turned, growling impatiently, "What are you looking at? Hurry up and follow!"
