Lily Turner was so distrusting of herself, and aside from pulling her into his arms, Easton Holmes could only sigh helplessly.
"Don’t worry, I just want to hold you while we sleep." He wrapped his arms tighter around her, and when he felt her struggling, he lowered his head and warned, "You better behave and don’t move, or I won’t just be holding you to sleep."
This girl kept wriggling in his embrace, making his heart itch. If she didn’t stop soon, he feared he wouldn’t be able to control his impulsive emotions.
Despite Easton Holmes’ warning, Lily Turner didn’t stop being restless. She lifted her head and glared at him discontentedly, "Threatening a pregnant woman like this is bound to get you struck by lightning."
"I’m not afraid of being struck by lightning because I’m an atheist." Easton Holmes gave a mischievous smile and quickly kissed Lily Turner’s cheek. Before she could flare up, he had already raised his head away from her cheek.
He, he, he...
Lily Turner rolled her eyes at the man holding her out of anger. At this point, all she could do was roll her eyes. She couldn’t break free from his embrace, nor could she beat him in strength.
"I’m too lazy to deal with you, I’m going to sleep!" She gave him a forceful glare, buried her head, and closed her eyes to sleep.
After such a big event today, she already couldn’t sleep, and now being held by this man, Lily Turner was wide awake.
Closing her eyes and being unable to sleep was particularly uncomfortable, so she simply opened her newly closed eyes, lifted her head, and began to negotiate with the man holding her, "I can’t sleep, can I go downstairs to watch some TV?"
Having to negotiate just to go downstairs and watch TV, what kind of life was she living?
Even more pathetic was that this kind of life had just begun.
"There’s a TV in the room, no need to go downstairs." Actually, Easton Holmes wasn’t feeling sleepy at all; he was wide awake and also wanted to find something to do.
As he spoke, he had already sat up from the bed, and once up, he got out of bed immediately.
Lily Turner instinctively tilted her head to look at the man who had just gotten out of bed. As she expected, the man walked over to grab the remote control and turned on the TV.
"What TV show do you like to watch?"
Easton Holmes asked as he returned to the bed with the remote control, lying back in his original spot.
Lily Turner rarely watched TV. The idea of going downstairs to watch TV was just an excuse to escape for a bit; she didn’t really intend to watch TV.
"I’m easy, you choose." She waved her hand dismissively at him, her attitude very perfunctory.
"How about watching the shows you’re in?" Easton Holmes suddenly leaned over, looking at Lily Turner fawningly.
"No way!"
Lily Turner snatched the remote control from Easton Holmes’ hand. Watching her own shows with him gave her a strange feeling.
Seeing this, Easton Holmes joked, "Is there something scandalous in the shows you act in?"
"What do you mean by that?"
Ever since hearing Henry Thompson call her a shameless actress, Lily Turner had become particularly sensitive. Even though she could tell Easton Holmes was joking, she still angrily questioned him.
"Do you also think I’m a shameless actress?"
Maybe that’s what everyone thinks. She had become this famous in just a few years.
What was wrong with these people? Why did they only see her dazzling halo and not the effort she put in to achieve it?
