Easton Holmes was just joking, but what he never expected was that Lily Turner not only took it seriously but was also extremely angry.

"Who said you were a shameless actor?"
Someone must have said that about her, and it had to be someone she cared about, or else she wouldn’t be so sensitive about the remark.
"Although you didn’t say it explicitly, what you meant to convey was exactly that." Lily mistakenly thought Easton was defending himself, and in her anger, she didn’t realize he was actually asking her a question, let alone sense his concern.

Easton could see that Lily wasn’t just speaking in anger; for some reason, she had truly let go, and seeing this made him feel slightly relieved.
"I support you! Go for it!" He raised one hand and made a cheering gesture toward her.
"Thank you!"
After thanking him, Lily turned over to the other side, leaving Easton with a cold and distant back.
Easton didn’t forcibly turn the woman who was facing away from him, nor did he use harsh words to demand that she face him.
He silently moved closer to her, embracing her from behind.
To his surprise and delight, she didn’t struggle as she had earlier, nor did she make any subconscious moves to avoid him. It seemed she no longer resisted his embrace.
"Will you interfere with my work in the future?" After a long silence, Lily suddenly asked.
"No."
Easton only said two words, but they were enough to clearly convey his meaning.
"Rest assured, during our marriage, I will never do anything to betray you." This was something Lily was one hundred percent sure about because she was not a casual woman and would never do anything to damage her reputation.
Easton tightened his grip slightly, pulling Lily closer to his embrace, "I believe you can do this."
"Thank you for your trust."
Whether he truly believed her or not, she felt the need to thank him.
"Can you promise me one thing?"
Easton slightly sat up and leaned over to look at Lily, who had her back to him. The sudden movement startled her, who had no defense.
"You... if you have something to say, just say it. Can you not be so startling? I’m very timid." Lily wanted to move aside, but she was already lying on the edge of the bed, and one more move would make her fall off.
Seeing Lily startled, Easton suddenly felt an urge to tease her. He lowered his head closer, and just as his lips were about to touch her cheek, he slowly stopped, "Am I really that scary-looking? Hmm?"
