Lily Turner’s reaction was quick. As Easton Holmes got close to her, she suddenly let out a painful cry, and her facial expression instantly changed to match.
This kind of agonizing scene was child’s play for an actor. She was a competent actress who performed such scenes with great realism.
At first, Easton Holmes thought Lily Turner was trying to scare him on purpose, but when he saw the pained expression on her face, he panicked and quickly straightened up, maintaining a distance from her.
"What’s wrong with you? Where does it hurt?"
He was so focused on anxiously asking her questions that he didn’t even notice the slight unsteadiness in his own voice.
As he questioned her, he examined her up and down, as if trying to quickly pinpoint what was wrong with her, but the results were not promising.
"I, my... stomach... it hurts, hss..."
After speaking in broken sentences, Lily Turner clutched her stomach, her brows furrowed tightly. At that moment, she didn’t forget to bite her lip in apparent pain.
To fool this cunning man in front of her, she went all out. At this moment, she even felt she was trying too hard.
Seeing Lily Turner cry out in pain holding her stomach, Easton Holmes’ heart leapt into his throat. Suddenly, he turned over to the other side of the bed and quickly reached for the phone on the nightstand.
She was now pregnant, and he only knew a bit about medicine. He decided it was better to call someone else for help.

Just as he was about to call the doctor from the military base, he suddenly saw her sitting up, and at the same time, she jumped out of bed.
Seeing the pained expression vanish from Lily Turner’s face, Easton Holmes realized instantly that he had been fooled by her.
"You go ahead and sleep. I’m going downstairs to watch TV."
She waved at him with a smile and quickly turned to run out of the room.
Watching her hurriedly run out, Easton Holmes bit his teeth in frustration. Despite being a seasoned veteran, he couldn’t see through such a simple ruse. It seemed that he, as the Special Forces King, should retire now.

Easton Holmes clenched his fist and pounded the empty space beside him, his teeth gnashing loudly, yet his eyes were filled with a radiant smile.
Lily Turner, unaware of any of this, dashed out of the room. Afraid Easton Holmes would follow and catch her, she didn’t dare look back, instead charging straight into the living room downstairs.
Seeing that he didn’t chase after her, she then relaxed, went over to the sofa, sat down, and with a hand on her chest, took a deep breath to rest.
It was only after a long while that she finally calmed her breathing.
In the dim light of the wall lamp, Lily Turner turned her head to scan her surroundings. Once assured there was nothing unusual, she lay down on the sofa.
Since she had run out of the bedroom, she couldn’t go back in. Tonight, she’d make do with sleeping on the sofa, seeing as that man hadn’t come looking for her.
Lily Turner sighed, reached for the pillow behind her, and began tugging at it absentmindedly, either out of boredom or perhaps to vent something.
Lying on the sofa, Lily Turner was completely oblivious to Easton Holmes standing at the entrance of the living room. In truth, he had followed her when she ran downstairs, but he didn’t enter the living room.
