Easton Holmes's arm stretched across Lily Turner's back, dominantly pulling her into his embrace, a clear declaration of territorial claim to others.
Lily Turner tried awkwardly to move her body, but the man only held her tighter, giving her no chance to escape.
Seeing this, the other three men exchanged glances, and then collectively turned their attention to their mutual good friend.
"Third Brother! You must have some clue about Big Brother's situation, right?"
Thomas Fisher didn't get any answers from Easton Holmes, so he decided to try his luck with Benjamin Shaw. However, based on the earlier situation, he felt his chances were slim.
Before Benjamin Shaw could speak, Lily Turner interjected, though not to answer Thomas Fisher's question, but to remind him, "Brother-in-law! I hope you won't tell my sister about what happened tonight. I don't want her to worry."
As she spoke, she glanced towards him sitting a bit further away. Once she saw him nod at her, she retracted her gaze.
After looking away from Benjamin Shaw, Lily Turner turned her eyes to Thomas Fisher, sitting on the other side of Easton Holmes, "Thomas! Thanks for earlier."
No matter what his reasons for punching that drunken man were, she felt she should thank him. That drunken man deserved a beating, and if she had been able to break free of a certain someone's grip earlier, she would have gone up and kicked that drunk herself.
"You know me?" Thomas Fisher didn't recall ever meeting Lily Turner before, and her recognition of him seemed odd.
Lily Turner shook her head honestly, "I heard the bar owner call you that just now."
"Hello! I'm Thomas Fisher!"
As Thomas Fisher introduced himself, he raised his right hand towards Lily Turner, but halfway there, he encountered an obstacle and had to stop.
Easton Holmes leaned over to pour wine, and as he did so, he tilted his head and said to the other three men, "Let's continue!"
After filling all four glasses with wine, he picked up one slowly and straightened up.
The other three men could discern his intent, but none of them voiced it out.
"It's too boring for the four of us men to drink alone. Miss Turner! Join us, won't you?" Thomas Fisher spoke during the pause, already pouring Lily Turner a glass of wine. To prevent his action from being again silently blocked by Easton Holmes, he stood and moved to sit on Lily Turner's other side with the glass.
"She's already had too much. If she drinks more, she won't be able to stand." Easton Holmes tried to stop Lily Turner from drinking with the four men, but his words backfired. She originally intended to refuse, but upon hearing him say this, she promptly changed her mind.
Lily Turner reached out and took the glass Thomas Fisher offered, not forgetting to express her gratitude with a quick "Thanks" as she did so.
"You're welcome!"
Seeing that Lily Turner accepted the wine, Thomas Fisher felt a sense of 'sweet revenge,' displaying a beaming, sunny smile on his face.
Lily Turner smiled silently, raised her glass, and gulped down the contents. Drinking too hastily, she choked on the wine and suddenly started coughing, "Cough..."
Luckily, she covered her mouth with her hand in time, preventing the wine from being sprayed everywhere.
Seeing this, Easton Holmes couldn't help but chide, "Can't you drink slower? It's like someone's trying to snatch it from you."
