Lily Turner's mood was already bad, and now hearing Easton Holmes criticize her like that, fueled by alcohol, she snapped back, "Excuse me, sir! Are we that familiar?"
She tilted her head and glared at him defiantly, without a trace of fear on her face.
Seeing this, the three men who were unaware thought Lily Turner said this because she was angry, not knowing that her words were both in anger and quite literal.
She and Easton Holmes had only had that kind of relationship; she wasn't familiar with him at all. She didn't even know his name, only that he was called "boss."
"We're not familiar? Then was it not you who got to know me so thoroughly that night?" Easton Holmes said suggestively. While the other three men might have taken a moment to understand, Lily Turner caught on instantly, feeling both angry and embarrassed. Yet, she was too shy to refute him directly in front of others.
Lily Turner gave the man who upset her an angry glance, leaned over to pour herself a drink, and downed it in one go, unlike earlier when she'd choked.
"Miss Turner! You're truly a heroine among women!"
To lighten the somewhat tense atmosphere, Thomas Fisher deliberately exclaimed loudly at Lily Turner.
Prompted by Thomas Fisher's shout, Lily Turner seemed even more energized. "Don't just watch, join in!"
As she spoke, she poured herself another glass of alcohol and once again gulped it down all at once.
"If they won't drink with you, I will."
Thomas Fisher ignored Easton Holmes' gaze and raised his glass to clink it with Lily Turner's.
"Thank you!"
Lily Turner clinked her glass with Thomas Fisher's, but just as she was about to drink, a hand suddenly took her glass away. She followed the hand, only to meet the dark face of Easton Holmes unexpectedly.
"Give me back my drink."
She glared at him and reached out to grab the glass he took, but her arms weren't as long as his; she tried several times but couldn't reach.
"You've had quite a bit already; you shouldn't drink any more."
After Easton Holmes said this, he downed the drink from Lily Turner's glass, giving a disapproving glance at the mischievous Thomas Fisher.
"Haha!"
Seeing that Easton Holmes was really somewhat angry, Thomas Fisher laughed foolishly and, with his glass, moved over to sit beside Benjamin Shaw and Ryan Taylor for refuge.
Just as everyone's attention was on Thomas Fisher, Lily Turner reached for the half-bottle of brandy on the table. By the time the four men noticed, she had already taken several big gulps.
"Are you trying to drink yourself to death?"
Easton Holmes snatched the bottle from Lily Turner's hand. To prevent her from grabbing it back, he handed it to Ryan Taylor, who was sitting not far from him.
"Yes! I want to drink myself to death. What does it have to do with you?" At this point, Lily Turner was clearly already drunk. She raised her hand to poke Easton Holmes' forehead and, while doing so, unhappily asked, "Where did you even come from? Why are you always against me?"
Easton Holmes removed the hand poking his forehead, gave the owner of the hand a deep look, then turned to his three brothers whose faces were full of confusion, "You guys continue, I'll take her back first."
After finishing his sentence, without waiting for his three brothers to respond, he wrapped his arm around her and walked out the door.
