Lily Turner wasn't sure if she was genuinely clueless or just pretending, but either way, she managed to rile up Easton Holmes. He reached out and pulled her onto the sofa, "Robbing a bank is too much trouble. I'll just take a superstar like you. I can get money directly from you with red envelopes—easy and convenient."
With that, he leaned in towards her.
"What are you doing?"
Seeing the man suddenly approaching her, Lily was so startled she broke out in a cold sweat. Instinctively, she raised her hand to press against his firm chest to prevent him from getting any closer.
"Of course, I'm taking you!"
Easton didn't take her hand pressing against his chest seriously at all. He leaned even closer to Lily, scaring her into leaning back to avoid him. Seeing this, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly, "Do you think you can evade me?"
If he wanted to do something, there was nothing he couldn't achieve.
Hearing this, Lily's face changed dramatically, "Mr. Holmes! Please have some respect."
She didn't want to compromise herself just for a meal; she didn't need anyone else to mock her, she could laugh at herself.
After staring at Lily for a long time, Easton let out a barely audible sigh and asked, "Do you know how to cook?"
"Hmm?"
In a state of high tension, Lily didn't hear what Easton had just said at all. Her starry eyes were fixed on him, noticing his lips moved, but she had no idea what he said.
Easton noticed Lily's tension, withdrew his hand and released her. As he sat down beside her, he clearly heard her let out a sigh of relief.
"Do you know how to cook?" he repeated the question in a louder voice.
"A little bit."
Lily was baffled by Easton's abrupt train of thought, not understanding why he would ask such a question. Was he really thinking of having her cook for him?
Easton's next words confirmed Lily's suspicion, "Make two of your best dishes for me. I'm not picky with food."
That was his plan from the start, but she had led him astray, making the atmosphere so heavy.
"But there are no ingredients here."
Did this man really want her to cook for him? What was he thinking? She would need to go out and buy groceries.
Go out and get groceries?!
Lily suddenly felt like she discovered a new opportunity, and her heart brightened up. Could she take the chance to sneak away while shopping for groceries?
That's decided!
She secretly made up her mind, feeling much more cheerful once she did.
"I bought groceries and fruit on my way here."
Easton's words pulled Lily back into a pit of despair. She looked at him in disbelief, but this reaction was within his expectations; he didn't feel the slightest surprise or shock.
He calmly stood up from the sofa and pulled her, who was still in shock, "Hurry up and cook, or it'll be midnight soon."
Easton's pull brought Lily back to her senses, and once she regained her composure, she realized that he'd already prepared the ingredients. He had pretended like he was asking her to treat him to a meal. Annoyed, she tilted her head and looked at the man beside her with displeasure on her plain face, "Mr. Holmes! You planned this, didn't you?"
