The people outside the car couldn’t see what was happening inside, but those in the car had a clear view of the outside.
Seeing Sophia Wood knocking on the car window, Lily Turner quickly stopped what she was doing and sat properly in her seat, quickly calming her emotions.
After ensuring there was nothing unusual about her appearance, she manually rolled down the passenger side window, and as soon as it opened, she spoke first, "Mom! It’s nothing, he just had a leg cramp earlier, but he’s fine now."
He didn’t have a leg cramp; he had a brain cramp.
Lily added indignantly in her heart, trying to maintain her usual calm demeanor to prevent Sophia from noticing anything amiss.
"As long as it’s nothing."
Sophia wasn’t completely convinced, but seeing that Lily didn’t appear to be lying, she simply said that it was fine and turned to walk to her own car.
Seeing her mother wasn’t suspicious, Lily exhaled a breath of relief, but couldn’t help but sigh when she thought of Easton Holmes’ misunderstanding.
Easton glanced at her sighing, said nothing, settled back into his seat, restarted the engine, and continued driving forward.
Lily remained silent too, the recent events reminding her not to speak carelessly. If any of her words touched a nerve with the man and he went crazy again, she wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Throughout the journey, neither of them spoke, one focused on driving, and the other stared blankly out the window, maintaining this state until the car stopped.
"You can go back to work with peace of mind, I won’t be running away." Knowing that Easton was worried she might escape, which was why he insisted on coming here, Lily said to him as the car stopped.
He seemed not to hear her words, unbuckling his seatbelt and got out of the car.

He bent down, opened the car door, and without saying a word, leaned in to unbuckle her seatbelt, reached out and pulled her out of the car.

She called out to her mom, hoping to remind the man holding her to let go.
