As soon as Sophia Wood spoke, Lily Turner felt Alice Turner’s shoulder stiffen suddenly. Doubt and worry immediately rose from within her, and she straightened up to look at her sister beside her.
"I haven’t told him yet; I’ll call him in a while." Ever since she parted ways with Benjamin Shaw that day at the Shaw Family’s home, Alice Turner hadn’t met with him, nor had they had any form of contact.
Over these days, she had thought it over and decided to divorce this titular husband. Now that the family already has a very distinguished son-in-law, whether or not this son-in-law exists is not that important anymore.
Sophia Wood didn’t notice Alice Turner’s abnormality, nor would she fathom Alice’s thoughts. She just nodded and didn’t say anything further.
But Lily Turner, sitting right next to Alice, felt her sister’s unusual reaction clearly. She wanted to ask something, but seeing Sophia and Easton Holmes there, she held back her words.
Later, she planned to find an opportunity to have a good chat with her sister. She had encountered too many things during this time and hadn’t chatted with her sister for a long time, being completely unaware of her sister’s current situation.
"Easton! Don’t you have things to do? Now that I’m safely home, you can go back to your business." Seeing her mother and sister completely out of sorts, looking very uncomfortable, Lily Turner knew it must have something to do with Easton Holmes, so she turned her head and started urging him to leave.
This guy had initially said he wanted to stay here with her, but she didn’t think he could be such a leisure person, idle enough to spend an entire afternoon here chatting with her mother and sister.
Before Easton Holmes could react, Sophia Wood had already spoken, "Easton has things to do too, Lily! You know Easton is busy but still asked him to come here just to send you home."
Sophia Wood completely believed what Lily Turner had just said, without the slightest doubt.
She glanced at Easton Holmes, who was sitting a bit farther away, then looked at Lily Turner, who was sitting slightly closer, complaining with her mouth while her expression followed along.
Hearing her mother’s complaint, Lily Turner felt wronged but couldn’t refute anything. Her frustration only allowed her to express her dissatisfaction by glaring at Easton Holmes.
The person being glared at seemed not to notice, maintaining a normal expression as he turned his gaze to his mother-in-law. "It’s not that urgent. There’s still time to send her home."
After Easton Holmes finished speaking, without waiting for Sophia Wood to respond, he stood up from the sofa, looking like he was ready to leave. However, he didn’t seem in any hurry to move his feet, as if waiting for something.
"Lily! Go see Easton off."
Seeing Easton Holmes stand up to leave, Sophia Wood hurriedly called for Lily Turner to escort him out.
When Sophia Wood called her to see off this troublesome man, Lily Turner rolled her eyes many times inwardly, but she never dared to say no. She hesitantly stood up and walked to the man who had been standing without moving his feet.
"Let’s go."
She gave the man a displeased look and walked toward the door first, not caring whether he would follow her, striding out on her own.
"I’ll be off then, you all stay,"
As Easton Holmes caught up, he didn’t forget to say to Sophia Wood and Alice Turner, not caring if they would respond as he quickly followed Lily Turner who had headed toward the exit before him.
