Alice Turner had been a bit worried when she mentioned calling Benjamin Shaw earlier. After waiting for a moment and seeing that her sister hadn’t gone inside, she found an excuse to come out and check on the situation.
As soon as she opened the door and stepped out, she heard her sister scolding Benjamin Shaw and thought that man must not be coming, which is why her sister was so angry.
