When Lily Turner first mentioned the payment, Easton Holmes noticed it. Earlier, he hadn't thought much of it, assuming that she had been informed by their boss.
But now, listening to the tone and attitude in her question, he felt that might not be the case.
"How would I know where you found out about it?" Easton Holmes realized his words were a bit convoluted, unsure if the woman standing in front of him understood.
Lily Turner was an actress accustomed to dealing with lines. Of course, she'd understand Easton Holmes's words. That's precisely why she rolled her eyes at him, "Since you're so curious, I'll tell you: not only do you and our boss know about it, but my agent and I also know. As for whether anyone else knows, I can't say."
"Did your agent tell you about this?"
Easton Holmes's ears were sharp. He instantly picked up the key point hidden in Lily Turner's words. Though he asked her, he didn't need her to answer to know the truth.

Easton Holmes suddenly burst out laughing. How had he never realized this girl was this amusing? Unable to help himself, he reached out and patted Lily Turner on the head. "Do your parents know how funny you are?"
Her father died in an accident the day she was born. She had never seen her father, not even a photo of him.

Her current father is busy with company affairs, rarely involved in household matters. He doesn't even interact with his biological daughter, let alone her, the stepdaughter.
What was meant as a joke made Lily Turner suddenly sullen. She let out a deep sigh and turned to look at the sea.
"What's wrong? Are you upset?"
Lily Turner's sudden change in mood left Easton Holmes confused and puzzled.
She shook her head, back facing the man, "No!"
"If you're not upset, why won't you look at me?"
Easton Holmes mimicked Lily Turner's earlier gesture, took a big step forward, and turned to face her.
As soon as he said this, Lily Turner burst into laughter, "Annoying! Why are you mimicking me?"
While speaking, she pushed him lightly.

Easton Holmes replied and flicked Lily Turner's forehead. He acted too swiftly; caught off guard, she didn't react. By the time she did, he had already moved aside.
"Why flick my forehead? Just talk!" Lily Turner rubbed the spot Easton Holmes flicked while walking towards him. She wanted to flick him back.
