"If you didn’t like it, why did you come?" A colleague directly retorted.
"Maybe she just bought a car and needs to cut back on expenses." Sophie grinned as she "explained" to the colleague who stood up for her, "Otherwise, why would she brazenly come to eat a meal she looks down on."
This remark made several colleagues around laugh out loud, looking at Eva with some unusual expressions.
"Eva, your boyfriend is so rich, why doesn’t he treat us to a meal?"
"Probably spent it all on a car?"
"That really calls for cutting back on expenses."
There are colleagues who dare to stand up, and naturally, there are those who shrink back.
But it was these few fearless ones, chattering away, that made Eva’s face flush red, and she snorted, pretending not to hear, turned to Sophie and asked, "Sophie, since you treated me to dinner, I’ll let Lucas drive you home. No need for you to squeeze on the bus."
"I’ll take her." Charles Seymour coldly interjected, even his manner of refusal made Eva’s heart race, how could this man be so handsome?
She wished she could push Sophie aside and take her place.
Lucas Payten could read the situation well, perceiving Eva’s thoughts, he immediately smiled and invited, "Why not take my car, it’s comfortable and you won’t have to squeeze, it’s faster than the bus."
Eva’s infatuated look was shattered by reality, she regretfully glanced at Charles Seymour’s handsome appearance, sighing inwardly.
Handsome is one thing, but having no money is another.
Finding a man, still needs to be someone who can earn money and support her.
"Yes, Sophie, no need to be polite with me." Eva hugged Lucas’s arm and said with a grin, "If you hadn’t turned Lucas down back then, this co-pilot’s seat would have been yours."

"What are you yelling for?" Just when Eva was relishing her counterattack, this exclamation ruined it, how could she be happy about that?
"That car is amazing!" The male colleague was clearly a car enthusiast, excitedly shouting as he looked at the sedan driving from afar.
Eva glanced over, unimpressed, and asked, "What’s so amazing? It’s just black, very ordinary."
"Even the lowest configuration of that car... costs over five million."
