"Then we’ll visit grandad in a couple of days, and I can buy some gifts." Sophie Wilson started pondering what would be good to buy, and felt awkward about going empty-handed today.
"What do Grandpa and Grandma like?" Sophie Wilson thought it better to ask Charles directly, knowing he would be more helpful.
"A granddaughter-in-law." Charles said solemnly.
Suddenly, her face flushed with heat, burning intensely.
"You, you, you..." Sophie Wilson stammered, embarrassed and at a loss for words, wondering how this guy could be .
Charles looked at Sophie innocently, not feeling there was anything wrong with what he said.
"We can go shopping after lunch." Charles seamlessly changed the subject, as if he hadn’t just said something flirtatious.
"Okay." Sophie Wilson’s cheeks remained warm, nodding swiftly to end the topic.
Charles’s eyes flashed a loving smile; he reached out and tousled Sophie Wilson’s hair, finding it pleasantly fluffy.
Sophie Wilson glared at him, cheeks puffed up, her eyes round and watery, leaving Charles’s heart soft and mushy, wishing he could taste her sweetness soon.
Although he thought about it, he remained rational, simply holding Sophie’s hand and calmly arriving at the restaurant.
