Rebirth: Pampered by the Lord Chapter 506

Chapter 506: Chapter 506 Picking up the Chick Chapter 506: Chapter 506 Picking up the Chick Upon hearing this, Old Lady Mo’s face darkened as she said, “You little wretch, how can you speak like that? I am your grandmother, how can it be ‘robbery’ when I take a little something from you? Truly lacking in propriety.”

Villagers crowded around the doorway to watch the fun.

Xuexue purposely raised her voice, “These are our family’s provisions; we all rely on them to live. If you take them away, how are we supposed to eat? Isn’t that robbery?”

“Oh my, there’s so much here! Grandma just wants a tiny bit, how could that starve you?” Having said that, she didn’t care about the consequences and tried to clamber into the cart to directly move the goods.

In name, Xuexue was still her biological granddaughter, and it wasn’t suitable to lay hands on her in front of all these eyes, or she’d be labeled as unfilial, so she shot Big Bull a knowing glance.

Having been with Xuexue for some time, Big Bull was always by her side. They had come to understand each other so well that even a glance or a gesture was enough to communicate each other’s thoughts.

“Old Lady Mo, how do you find the weather today?” Big Bull stepped forward with a smile that was not quite a smile.

Seeing so many fine things and hardly able to wait, Old Lady Mo had one foot in the cart and one on the ground. Hearing Big Bull’s words, she had no choice but to withdraw her foot and look up at the sky, “It’s quite good! It’s summer now, and the weather is hot, sunny every day.”

“So, do you feel like climbing onto the roof to catch a breeze and cool off?” Big Bull’s smile was full of ill intent.

Old Lady Mo, remembering the time Big Bull had thrown her onto a roof where she shivered through several Shichen Chinese Time of cold wind, trembled all over; how could she have forgotten about Big Bull, the Plague God?

“Hehe…! No, Big Bull, please don’t mess around. Grandma is old now, with frail arms and legs, I can’t withstand such rough handling.” To ingratiate herself with Big Bull, Old Lady Mo actually went so far as to claim she was his grandmother.

But, funnily enough, having heard this, Big Bull felt quite pleased inside.

“Then don’t get in the way of us moving the things, better step aside quickly.” Big Bull reached out and grabbed the collar of her dress, hoisting her up in the air.

Old Lady Mo’s feet left the ground, thinking that Big Bull was going to throw her onto the roof again, she closed her eyes and screamed loudly.

Big Bull dumped her into the crowd, “Alright, stop your wailing, considering your age, you shouldn’t be shamelessly barking all day long.”

“You’re bullying this old woman, and now you’re spewing sarcastic remarks,” Old Lady Mo complained with her eyes still closed.

Big Bull rolled his eyes in exasperation, “Open your eyes and see where you are before you say anything.”

Upon hearing this, Old Lady Mo opened her eyes and looked around, dumbfounded, “Weren’t you supposed to throw me onto the roof? How come I’m still on the ground?”

The villagers who had gathered burst into laughter upon hearing this.

The old lady, who was usually so arrogant and domineering, turned out to be a person who feared death, not as formidable as they had thought.

Regaining her senses and feeling a mix of anger and shame, Old Lady Mo spat at the villagers who laughed at her, “Pah! A bunch of dead poor wretches, what’s so funny? What are you laughing at?”

Having been scolded out of the blue by Old Lady Mo, the villagers were displeased and retorted, “You old hag, really ungrateful! We haven’t provoked you, why are you cursing us for no reason?”

“Exactly, always calling us poor devils as if you’re so rich yourself. If you’re so wealthy, why come here to rob others?”

Having been picked up by Big Bull like a little chicken, Old Lady Mo felt utterly humiliated. She was seething with rage inside, yet dared not retaliate against Big Bull, so instead she lashed out at the villagers, “What’s it to you? This is my daughter-in-law’s home, my granddaughter’s house, what business is it of you outsiders?”
