"Bella Green, what are you shouting about?" Ivy Willis was startled by her loud voice and angrily retorted.
Before Bella Green could reply, a series of screams erupted one after another.
"Oh my God, how did these things get out?" someone shouted.
"Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, these things aren’t poisonous, just find someone to gather them up."
Lying on the ground, Alex Latham listened to everyone’s words, bewildered and unable to make sense of the situation. He turned his head to look at Ivy Willis.
He saw that the earlier angry Ivy Willis was now wide-eyed with terror, staring straight at him.
Alex Latham felt a shiver under her gaze, just about to say something, when a cold and itchy sensation on his neck made his body stiffen, his hair standing on end.
He turned his head rigidly to look, and the moment he saw it, Alex Latham let out a yelp, jumping up from the ground and desperately shaking his body while tugging at his collar.
"Oh my gosh, help me get them off, quickly, quickly." Alex Latham’s voice was tinged with a sob.
The crowd, previously frightened by the swarming creatures on the ground, now focused entirely on Alex Latham, staring in amazement at the robust man wildly shaking the spiders off his body.
Was this really the same person lying on the ground earlier, wailing that he couldn’t get up?
Bella Green coldly glanced at the dumbfounded Ivy Willis, then walked towards Alex Latham, plucking a small bluish-black spider and holding it in front of Alex.
"Is this what you’re talking about?" the youth asked with a sweet smile.
Facing the black spider within arm’s reach, Alex Latham screamed and backed away two or three meters.
"Take it away, take it away." the man shouted in terror.
He wasn’t sure if all the bugs on him had been shaken off completely; nonetheless, he felt itchy all over, as if creatures were crawling all over his body, insisting every part was utterly disgusting.
"Oh, okay." Bella Green smiled as she tossed the little spider aside, continuing: "Turns out these spiders have a dislocation-healing effect too?"
The boy’s laughing voice made Alex Latham’s plump body stiffen, and his face drastically changed, filling with panic.
"I, I..." He opened his mouth but couldn’t utter a single word.
"Did Alex Latham really stand up?"
"Was he so scared that his excitement fixed his back?"
"Are you dumb? It’s obviously a sham, can’t you see?"
"Holy shit, does this guy have no shame? This is a large-scale scam attempt, isn’t it?"
"Tsk, tsk, as I said, how could a teenager be capable of something so dramatic?"
"When did you say that?" someone asked.
"I was just about to when he sprang up:" the person replied helplessly.
Standing there, Alex Latham didn’t care about the unnerving spiders and worms any longer, his face pallid and at a loss.
"Alex Latham, are you playing me for a fool?" Bryce Xavier slammed the table forcefully and shouted in anger.
Frightened, Alex Latham shuddered, never expecting things to turn out . Everything was going smoothly; soon, the kid could have been kicked off the set. How did such a thing suddenly appear?
"Director, this, this is none of my business, it’s all her, she’s the one who told me to do this, I was forced, Director, it really has nothing to do with me."
With the scheme exposed, Alex Latham, in tears and snot running down his face, wailed unabashedly, throwing Ivy Willis under the bus without mercy.
