A few seconds after the impact that devastated the Lion Roar members, Dango Tiger's expression became livid.
"Damn it, who the hell attacks us?" Dango Tiger shouted in fury.
"We're all in this together, so who is backstabbing at this time? Do you want Dawnshire City to collapse? Our Lion Roar and the alliance will do everything in our power to ruin you in retaliation!" He continued, threatening the person responsible for the attack.
"Save it, Dango Tiger. You won't be able to retaliate against them." Amidst his fury, a voice echoed from behind.
Without needing to turn around, Dango Tiger already knew who this voice belonged to.
"Was this your doing, Guild Leader Gentle Wind?" Like a mad tiger, Dango Tiger's eyes felt as if they could kill someone.
"Does it look like I'm a dumb person?" Gentle Wind questioned in response.
Sure enough, Dango Tiger realized how retarded his question was.
Although their guild wasn't friendly and constantly at each other's throats, there was no way any of them would attempt to backstab. Even if there would be a backstab, it would definitely not be at this critical time.
Without any guarantee of victory, hurting each other was equivalent to sabotaging themselves. Not to mention, each of the four major guilds paid a heavy price to recruit the Vanguard Guild for help.
They might have been recouped with the money from the minor guilds. But the truth was that the money had only been transferred to them in half.
The remaining half would be transferred over once the crisis was over. This was the Vanguard Guild's tactic to ensure no one would do anything stupid to ruin the alliance.
"Well, if it's not you, then who did it?" Dango Tiger asked. Based on her tone, it appeared that she had an idea of who did it.
Previously, he had been focused entirely on the formation and damage control. He didn't even have time to worry about the other situation.
"Yes, the culprit is the Vanguard Guild Honorary Elder." Gentle Wind answered. "But it's not on purpose. The two Colossuses that were fighting him had merged into one. Now it's considered a merged Colossus with overwhelming attributes."
By the time Dango Tiger was informed and got a clear picture of the situation—especially how he wasn't the first victim. He nearly wanted to cry aloud.
"Why am I the victim along with Herald Fist?" Dango Tiger was frustrated by their terrible luck.
Naturally, the matter regarding that Night Coin also suffered some damages was neglected by Gentle Wind.
Why should she inform him about that aspect either?
It was his fault for not being efficient and implementing spies on the elite teams of other guilds.
She couldn't afford to let them know that only her guild remained safe and sound.
"Tell me about it. My members also suffered from that flashing light earlier." Gentle Wind sighed and lied with a straight face.
Dango Tiger knitted his brows in response when he heard the news.
"Ugh, my guild formation is messed up now because of the attack. And even you suffer damage! The right side is in peril because of the Honorary Elder." He became frustrated.
The person they hired was the cause of their right side formation being broken despite the heavy emphasis that nothing should be changed.
"Our previous agreement to not mix together should be null." Gentle Wind suggested having her guild take over the leadership.
Instantly, Dango Tiger's face turned sour. 'So that was your goal in coming here?'
He wished to reject the suggestion immediately, but when he took a look over his members, he saw a bunch of them dead. The loss in tanks and supports was actually a bit over 20% of their entire force.
20% might not sound like a lot at a glance, but this was the percentage of a large number. In other words, he suffered a heavy loss of manpower and even when revived, they needed time to recover, given some of their buffs had been reset upon death.
Time was of the essence now, and Dango Tiger ultimately agreed to the arrangement.
"Fine, you already know most of my team's data through the shared alliance chat. So you'll take over the command, but I wish there would be no foul play." He exclaimed.
"Relax, I won't commit any foul play when I'm going to be streaming this." Gentle Wind mused. By streaming an event in which she took over the leadership and commanded the Lion Roar, the effect would be dramatic already.
Sure enough, Dango Tiger clenched his fist and suppressed his emotion temporarily. 'I'll get you for this.'
Sometime later, the right side's control fell under Gentle Wind and started to recover the openings that were created from the collateral attack.
Although she had indirectly snatched the control by force, Gentle Wind wasn't going to become a useless leader and allow their right side to collapse.
As she began to pay extra attention to maintain the monsters within the boundary, back at the center, Xu Feng was panting heavily.
'Are these kinds of attributes even legal at this stage?' He was dumbfounded by the merged Colossus' overwhelming power.
Alas, he could barely complain when another deadly blast was coming from afar. Xu Feng was left without a choice but to sacrifice his health points to construct a barrier.
Upon impact, his health quickly decreased by another 30% and his mana was running low from defending constantly.
His clothes were in shambles, and his hands were starting to turn numb from the constant pressure.
"Ugh, the power of the male Colossus and the intelligence of the female Colossus. When merged, this is the combination of brain and brawn together." He breathed heavily.
The collateral damage caused to the alliance truly wasn't done on purpose.
Those were simply attacks that Xu Feng had to dodge at all costs to avoid being one-shotted. And for the ones that he could tank, he had to take it head-on to avoid ruining the battle formation any further.
