Nora frowned when her phone rang and Victor’s name showed on the screen. She waved his guests to leave and then picked up the call slowly.
"Hello!" her leisure voice paused Victor for a second. He distanced himself from the call and confirmed the number first. Only then did he continue,
"Where are you? Did you forget that our school is announcing the result of the pretest today. Not only that, I have heard that they have called a chief guest to announce the result. They are making it so grand. If you have good marks, your name would be announced on the stage." his voice had a hint of nervousness. Though he was sure about his result. He could not help but doubt her results after her scholarship result.
They have even claimed that she had cheated. He pulled his shirt unconsciously when she did not reply at once.
"Nora.."
"I have come out to buy a few things. I will be back in half an hour." Before he could ask where she was, she had already cut the call. Victor heard the beep on the phone with a stunned face.
"Victor! The teacher had called for you. You will be assigned to welcome the guest." Victor placed the phone in his pocket and nodded with a solemn face as he hastily walked to the principal office.
The students were sitting in the auditorium. It was not only their class but all the senior sections had covered the large auditorium. Each class had given this pretest with the hope that they would be selected in it and secure a seat in the top ten universities of the world.
When Nora came, she saw a long line of students standing at both sides of the entrance with a tray full of flower petals. Those arrogant girls who did not put anyone in their eyes had a bright smile while waiting like servants. Their faces fell when they noticed Nora. But they dare not insult her.
What if their guests arrive just that time and they would ruin their image. Nora raised a brow as she walked in leisurely, enjoying the look of their faces.
"Nora, go to the auditorium. Or you are here to help us?" Miss Megan glared at the girl. She had disappeared early in the morning and had only returned now to create a scene.
Nora’s lips curled. She wanted to say something but in the end left with a mocking smile on her face. Megan’s eyes darkened. Her hands clenched into a fist.
"This girl! I will teach her a lesson today."
When Nora walked in the auditorium, most of the seats were filled. She noticed an empty seat in the third line. All her class students were sitting there. But when she tried to sit, someone blocked the seat.
"There is already someone sitting here. He is gone to drink water and will be back soon." Nora frowned but did not argue with the student. Slowly nodding she walked toward the fifth row. There were two empty seats in the corner. But the same thing repeated.
"Hey! My two friends are standing outside to welcome the guest. I have saved these two seats for them. You should find your own seats." her face grew darker but there were so many people for her to throw a tantrum.
She walked to the servants ’ row. But wherever she went, someone stopped her from sitting there. They all claimed that the seats were taken. Nora’s eyes had turned completely dark with not a single trace of warmth in it.
She had already reached thirtieth and last row.
"Hey this seat is.." Nora held the extended hand to block the seat and pressed it tightly.
"What did you say?" The girl was not a strong one. She had long noticed how no one let Nora sit beside them so she was following the course. But the injured girl was so strong. She had held her so tightly that the girl felt her bone was crushing.
"What are you doing! Let it go!" she screamed with pain. Tears brimming in her eyes. But instead of letting go, Nora added more pressure.
"Is this seat empty or not?" Nora asked in a sweet voice but the pressure extended on her hands was killing the girl.
"It is.. Empty!" the girl cried and only then did Nora let go of her hands. She sat there leisurely and closed her eyes ignoring the glares full of hatred everyone was giving her.
Two girls stood up in front of her glaring at her with eyes full of hatred.
"You little brat! Did you just injure our friends?" Nora sighed. No matter what she did, she was not going to have peace.
"So what!" the voice made their blood boil. The young girl was ignoring them blatantly. Even their class never dared to do so. Recently there were so many rumors around Nora. Many of the articles had her picture with other boys and doing something shameful that the girls had recognized her at once.
"Ha! No wonder you have so many articles on you. Such a shameless girl who only knows picking up a fight or cheating! Yet you behave so arrogantly. If I had been at your place, I would have long killed myself." The woman spat with venom but Nora did not open her eyes. She just waved her hands in front of her face with her nose scrunching.
"She should hide in her room but look at her sitting here brazenly stealing someone’s spot. I think she is so habitual of stealing that she could not stop herself."
"Such a foul smell! Yet you dare to speak. Are you not afraid that everyone around you will faint?" Nora spoke, pinching her nose and making a nauseated face.
"You! How dare you!" The first one reached for Nora’s collar. They would teach this girl a lesson first. But before they could pull her, Nora opened her eyes and stared at them.
For a second they were not able to breathe. The eyes were so cold as if a grim reaper was looking at them.
"Did you say something to me?"
