"Thank you!" After returning the phone to the other person, Shen Weiyi said to Fang Jing and Yan Xiaoyue, "I won’t be going to the cafeteria, you guys go ahead and eat."
Both nodded their heads.
They had also heard what the group of girls had said earlier. As they responded, they comforted Shen Weiyi, "Don’t worry, there won’t be any problems."
"Okay!" Shen Weiyi nodded, then pulled out her phone to call Sheng Ting.
According to the time Sheng Ting had originally mentioned, he indeed should have been returning to school about now.
However, during their previous conversation, he hadn’t mentioned anything about coming back today.
But the person in the video was indeed him; she couldn’t mistake that.
On the way to the hospital, Shen Weiyi thought a lot. Given Sheng Ting’s character, he would certainly not make enemies at random, so those people were very likely the ones who had blocked her and Shen Tan at the entrance of the bar that night.
She hadn’t expected them to come to the school to cause trouble after so many days, and just happened to run into Sheng Ting.
After all, this unwarranted disaster was because of her.
Shen Weiyi called Shen Tan to remind her to be careful when going out these days.
After ending the call, she got off the taxi.
There was the hospital’s entrance, she stood at the doorway for a while before walking in.
Just as she entered the lobby, she heard a familiar voice calling her.
He held a stack of examination and payment sheets in his hand and called out to her as soon as he saw her.
Shen Weiyi walked over to him. Not seeing Sheng Ting nearby, she couldn’t help but ask, "Senior Mu, how is Sheng Ting?"
"He got some injuries, but it shouldn’t be anything serious. After all, it happened at the school entrance, those people didn’t dare to go too far. Don’t worry," Mu Sui comforted her.
After the two had gotten off the plane, they first took the professor home and then headed back to the school. Right at the school entrance, they had caught sight of several shady figures asking around for something.
Sheng Ting had told him to go ahead, and before he could react, Sheng Ting had walked over to them.
He didn’t know what Sheng Ting had said to them, but suddenly those people started getting physical.
Outnumbered, they ran away after the fight.
The two arrived at the outpatient clinic, and Shen Weiyi saw Sheng Ting sitting in the waiting area.
As he turned his head and saw her, his originally tense expression softened all of a sudden, as though unfolding, and he waved her over. As soon as Shen Weiyi approached, Sheng Ting suddenly stretched out his hand and pulled her into his embrace.
Shen Weiyi was momentarily startled.
This should count as their first real hug, and in between their breaths, she could smell his familiar scent, mixed with a faint hint of disinfectant.
Then she heard his voice above her, gently asking, "Did this scare you?"
Shen Weiyi lifted her head from his embrace, her gaze falling on his injured hand, "Are you alright?"
Sheng Ting gave her a reassuring smile, "It’s nothing serious, I’ll be fine after a few days of rest. Don’t worry!" he said, then lifted his uninjured hand to ruffle her hair.
Shen Weiyi pressed her lips together, looking at the person with his hand bandaged, still trying to comfort her, and her chest felt inexplicably tight.
She adjusted her emotions and looked at him, "Why didn’t you tell me you were coming back?"
"I had planned to tell you over the phone, but you didn’t pick up, so I thought I’d tell you when I got back," Sheng Ting explained.
Shen Weiyi remembered indeed there was an unanswered call from him the previous night. She had missed it because she was in the shower, and when she called back, his phone was already switched off.
