In the blink of an eye, it was a new week.
During the long break, Qin Zhen suddenly leaned in mysteriously to Shen Weiyi’s ear and whispered, "Yiyi, did you bring ’that’?"
Qin Zhen said, "I’ve got my period and I forgot to bring ’that.’"
"Oh, wait a second." Shen Weiyi quickly opened her backpack and rummaged out a packet with pink little wings.
"Eh? You use this brand too?" Qin Zhen noticed it was the same brand she usually used.
Shen Weiyi looked down, and a moment of confusion crossed her face; this wasn’t the brand she always used, but one that someone had picked out for her at the convenience store previously.
Staring at the item in her hand, Shen Weiyi’s thoughts drifted off uncontrollably.
It had been a weekend that day, and she had gone out to eat, shop, and even watch a movie with Jiang Zhiyi. After coming out of the cinema, she realized it seemed like her period had started, but she had forgotten to prepare and had no choice but to ask Jiang Zhiyi for help.
"I forgot to bring the ’small bread’."
At that moment, Jiang Zhiyi, engrossed in his mobile game, looked up and asked, "Are you hungry?"
Shen Weiyi, with an embarrassed expression, corrected him: "Not that kind of bread, I mean... the thing girls need every month." Seeing his baffled face, she bit her lip and said curtly, "Sanitary pad."
Jiang Zhiyi paused, then looked at her in disbelief, "What are you looking at me for? Do I look like someone who uses that thing?"
Shen Weiyi was so frustrated that she was at a loss for words and glared at him irritably. Yet, she eventually softened her voice and asked, "I’m not in a position to buy it now, could you go and get it for me?"
Jiang Zhiyi pulled her into his arms, looked down, and with a teasing laugh in his soft voice, said, "I could, but since I’ll be risking embarrassment, how do you plan to compensate me?"
Shen Weiyi asked, "How do you want me to compensate you?"
"How about transferring to our school?"
"I... I’ll think about it!"
Jiang Zhiyi wrapped his arms around her, rested his head on her shoulder as if to weigh her down with his entire body, his eyes sparkling softly as he coaxed her, "Don’t think about it, don’t you want to go to school with me every day? Plus, my birthday is in a few days, so you could consider it as fulfilling my birthday wish, okay? Sis!"
Shen Weiyi rolled her eyes at him, "Do you think transferring schools is like changing buses? Besides, the college entrance exams are almost here, and it’s so hard to get into Jiu Middle School!" He always had some crazy idea.
Jiang Zhiyi realized this wish was indeed a tall order and quickly shifted gears, "Alright, I’ll change my wish. How about, you call me ’hubby’ just once?"
"Dream on, I’m not going," Shen Weiyi pushed his head away from her shoulder.
"Alright, alright, I’ll go," Jiang Zhiyi casually straightened up.
Shen Weiyi retorted, "I’m not begging you to."
"Right!" Jiang Zhiyi said with a hooked smile, "I’m willing to serve you willingly; after all, you are my Princess."
"Yiyi? Weiyi? Shen Weiyi—" Suddenly, a high-pitched voice called out to her.
"Ah?" Shen Weiyi snapped back to reality.
"What were you thinking about?" Qin Zhen approached her, looking at her with curiosity.
"Nothing much," Shen Weiyi quickly gathered her thoughts and handed her the item, "There’s only one, is that okay?"
"It’s fine, I’ll run down to the kiosk in a bit, thanks!" Qin Zhen took it from her hand and hurried out of the classroom.
Shen Weiyi twirled her fingertip, looked down, and her lips pressed thinly into a straight line.
