Chapter 35 - Requiem of the Abyss
The sky split apart, torn by the sheer force of colliding powers. The Arbiter of Balance stood firm, radiating an aura that defied time and existence itself. Opposite him, Jin-Ho Kang, the Shadow Monarch, unleashed the boundless abyss, his form wreathed in living darkness.
A silence stretched between them—brief, yet heavier than any war Jin-Ho had ever fought. Then, with a mere flick of his wrist, the Arbiter struck.
A wave of energy cascaded forward, so pure and absolute that even the shadows recoiled. Jin-Ho barely had time to react. He raised his hand, and from the depths of his being, darkness surged to meet the attack. The collision of forces ruptured space, sending shockwaves rippling across the ruined citadel.

"You do not understand the forces you defy," the Arbiter intoned, stepping forward. "The Monarchs were never meant to exist as gods. You have overstepped your fate."
Jin-Ho wiped a trail of blood from the corner of his mouth. "Fate? You think I care about something so fragile? Fate belongs to those too weak to forge their own path."
His voice was resolute, but deep inside, he knew this battle was unlike any before. The Arbiter wasn't an enemy to be slain; he was a force to be endured.
Jin-Ho exhaled sharply and reached inward. The abyss within him stirred in response. Shadows coiled around his arms, surging with newfound intensity. He clenched his fist, and the battlefield itself darkened.
"If fate stands in my way... then I will erase it."
With those words, Jin-Ho launched forward. His speed shattered the ground beneath him as he closed the distance. The Arbiter lifted his hand, a sigil of pure light forming in his palm. The two forces clashed once more—darkness against absolute balance, chaos against unwavering order.
For every strike Jin-Ho delivered, the Arbiter countered with precision. Where Jin-Ho wielded the abyss, the Arbiter wielded inevitability. Yet, despite the overwhelming odds, the Shadow Monarch did not falter. He refused to be bound.
Suddenly, the Arbiter's expression shifted. His gaze flickered, a brief moment of something unrecognizable—hesitation. It was minuscule, almost imperceptible, but Jin-Ho saw it.
A smirk curled his lips. "You're not invincible after all."
The Arbiter's form wavered, as if reality itself struggled to contain him. Jin-Ho didn't hesitate. He summoned the abyss in its purest form, a maelstrom of absolute darkness. It howled like a beast unchained, swallowing everything in its path.
The Arbiter raised his hands in response, but it was too late. Jin-Ho's power crashed down upon him like a tidal wave, and for the first time in eons, balance itself trembled.

Jin-Ho staggered, breathing heavily. The Arbiter was gone—no body, no remnants, only the faintest whisper of his presence lingering in the void.
