“Why haven’t you left? Weren’t my daughter’s words clear enough?” Pei Yansi frowned and walked towards Lu Yi.
Upon seeing Pei Yansi, Lu Yi couldn’t help but smirk sarcastically, “Just now, during this contest, I lost. Yuexue certainly didn’t let you win, right? You two really are like mother and daughter, with those few dishes you made, she still had the conscience to let you win.”
Lu Yi, who initially was gritting his teeth in hatred, heard what Pei Yansi said, clenched his fists even tighter, then suddenly loosened them, looking at him in disbelief.
“What do you mean Yuexue said I lost, doesn’t that mean you won? Why do you say you didn’t win?”
“There were no winners in this competition at all,” Pei Yansi said indifferently.
Lu Yi stood there, furrowing his brows deeply, muttering to himself with a hint of disbelief.
“It seems like in Yuexue’s heart, both you and I have been eliminated. Could it be that she fancies someone else, so she set this up in order to drive us both away from Shen Heyu’s side?”
“What do you mean by that?” Pei Yansi frowned; although Lu Yi’s mutter was not loud, he heard every word clearly.
As they were still entangled with this question, Shen Heyu’s voice came from behind them.
“Why are the two of you here?”
Hearing Shen Heyu’s voice, Pei Yansi and Lu Yi almost subconsciously turned around, but the moment they turned, the smiles on their faces suddenly froze.
Because not only did they see Shen Heyu, but also Gu Siyu by her side.
Lately, it seemed that the two had been getting too close.
The words Lu Yi had muttered to himself earlier echoed involuntarily in Pei Yansi’s ears.

“Shen Heyu, you don’t want us to appear here, is it because you don’t want outsiders to disturb you and Doctor Gu by your side?” Lu Yi’s jealousy was intense as he immediately pointed his arrow at Gu Siyu.
Hearing his accusatory tone, Shen Heyu felt a bit guilty, feeling that she had wronged Gu Siyu.
Shen Heyu took a step forward; she stood in front of Gu Siyu, her face cold as she said to both of them, “Before Yuexue’s full recovery, I do not want either of you to appear in the hospital.”
“Do you not want us to appear in the hospital, or do you not want us to appear by your side and Gu Siyu’s?” Pei Yansi’s words were pointed.
“After my annulment with Shen He, it seems like you’re very happy, finding a new partner so quickly.”
Lu Yi mocked Shen Heyu, and upon hearing his words, Shen Heyu clenched her jaw.
“I’d ask that you speak a bit more respectfully,” Gu Siyu stepped forward, standing in front of Shen Heyu, clearly intending to protect her.
Seeing this, Lu Yi curled his lip in mockery, “How touching it is, each of you protecting the other.”
“Enough!” Shen Heyu was getting a bit angry.
Just then, the curtain to Yuexue’s hospital room was pulled aside, and Yuexue poked her head out, a pair of bright eyes looking at Pei Yansi and Lu Yi.
“Weren’t you two supposed to not bother Mommy for a while after admitting your loss in the competition?”
Yuexue’s voice was soft and tender, and especially with those eyes glistening with clear, sparkling light, it was hard for anyone to heartlessly deny her.
Yuexue’s words drew Shen Heyu’s attention. She turned around and squatted down.
“Yuexue, tell Mommy about the competition.”
Yuexue threw her arms around Shen Heyu’s neck in a cheerful embrace, speaking in a milky voice, “Mommy doesn’t know yet, I had them compete yesterday in cooking a meal. Whoever made the tastiest meal would win.”
“But they both lost, and according to the bet, they aren’t supposed to bother you for a while.”

Shen Heyu turned her head to look at Pei Yansi and Lu Yi, “You two adults aren’t thinking of going back on your word now, are you?”
Pei Yansi’s expression darkened. In fact, he had accepted his loss in the competition; he was convincingly beaten since the few dishes he made truly weren’t that great.

“Yuexue, Daddy will come visit you next time.”
Pei Yansi greeted Yuexue before he left and took Lu Yi with him.
After the two men had gone, Shen Heyu finally let out a sigh of relief and took Yuexue’s hand, returning to her hospital room.
As soon as she returned to the room, she saw six dishes laid out on the dining table, three of which, at first glance, were rather pitiful in appearance.
But the other three dishes looked appetizing enough that it would be simple to declare a winner just by sight.
“Are those few unappetizing dishes, the ones burned too, the ones Pei Yansi made?”
Yuexue nodded. She raised her hand pointing with her small finger at the other three bright and shining dishes, “These dishes were brought by Uncle Lu.”
Gu Siyu also walked into the room and could tell at a glance the difference in the culinary skills of the dishes.
“The dishes Lu Yi brought look very tasty; why did he lose the competition this time?” Gu Siyu was somewhat puzzled.
Yuexue smiled, her eyes twinkling mischievously when she did,
“Well, of course, because those dishes he brought weren’t made by him at all. He had other chefs do the cooking.”
“Yuexue is so smart, even noticing that,” Gu Siyu exclaimed in amazement at the girl’s cleverness after hearing her words.
“I also noticed that Doctor Gu has a fondness for Mommy,” Yuexue said outright, without a hint of concealment.
