He said coldly, “No, don’t be presumptuous.”

It seemed he was about to change his mind.

Shen Heyu turned a blind eye and walked away. The banquet was almost over, and she had booked a flight for early the next morning, planning to go back and rest well tonight.
She left early, returned to the hotel, and entered the elevator. Just as the elevator doors were about to close, someone from outside pressed the button and opened them again.
The doors slowly reopened, revealing the face of the man standing outside.
Seeing him, Shen Heyu felt a jolt in her heart and started to nervously tighten her grip.

“I’m on the same floor as you.”
His voice was low and indifferent, giving nothing away. Shen Heyu forced herself not to overthink—perhaps he really was staying on the same floor. They were divorced, and he didn’t know that Yuexue was his daughter. Surely he wouldn’t persist in bothering her…
Given his status, he couldn’t possibly stoop to that!
And yet, as soon as this thought passed, she felt him moving closer to her.
The man stood behind her, took two steps forward, his broad chest pressing against her back, their temperatures mingling through their clothes, adding a hint of ambiguity to the air.
Shen Heyu’s entire body tensed, wanting to step forward to escape him, but the man quickly anticipated her move.
He wrapped his arms around her waist before she could distance herself, drawing her even tighter into his embrace, his lips brushing against her ear, teasingly saying, “Having a child really makes a difference, you seem more mature and alluring than before.”
“What about that child? They say he’s Lu Yi’s, right? You come back to the country and don’t stay at his villa but in a hotel instead?”
Feeling his body’s response against her, Shen Heyu, driven by a woman’s instinctual fear of men, put her guard up completely.
“What does it have to do with you? Mr. Pei, behave yourself—let me go!”
