The producer made the introduction. "This is Lian Jincheng, the assistant produce for this project."
"Hi, Producer Lian."
"Hi, how are you. Please, have a seat."
"….."
Gu Nian and the others walked around the projector and the screen and took the three seats on the inside of the room.
Obviously, Gu Nian was the one who needed to talk about the story and the characters and, as such, she took the middle spot and Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan sat down on her left and right.
As soon as Gu Nian had sat down, she witnessed Producer Lian sat down on the right side across from her and the male producer who picked them up sat down on the left side.
And the chair immediately across from Gu Nian was left empty.

Gu Nian was a little dazed.
"… Gu Nian? Gu Nian?"
The low ushering voice next to her brought her back and she quickly turned her head. "Hmm?"
"Do you have our USB drive with the PPT in it?" asked Qin Yuanyuan. She studied Gu Nian's look with some hesitation. "What is it? Are you not feeling well? You don't look well."
Gu Nian blinked and curved her lips stiffly. "Must because I didn't sleep well last night."
Gu Nian pulled the USB drive out from her purse and handed it over to Qin Yuanyuan, who was sitting on her right. After taking the USB drive from Gu Nian, Qin Yuanyuan got up and walked over to the computer sitting next to the projector and started working on it.
Once she got the PPT to display, she stood back up and handed the remote control next to it to Gu Nian.
Gu Nian took it over, took a small breath, and said, "Then let's begin––"
"Can you please wait a minute, Ms. Gu?" The male producer interrupted her suddenly. After checking his golden wrist watch, he looked up at her apologetically. "We have one more responsible party who will be joining us but he is stuck in a meeting right now. Do you mine if we wait for him to start?"

Gu Nian's eyes began to turn cold.
If she had been lying to herself and telling herself that this had nothing to do with that man before now, then she could no longer keep on lying to herself.
It was obvious that the investor that was swapped the last minute, producers that were overly friendly toward a small screenwriter team like them, and the spot that was saved for someone…… all evidences pointed toward the same person.
Gu Nian's long and tender hand that was holding onto the remote control tightened its grip and her eyes that were lowered became colder and colder.
If she was there alone and that this script wasn't the product of the hard work of all three of them, perhaps she should still get up and walk out right now.
But that was not the case.
Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan, innocent and very much looking forward to this opportunity, were sitting right next to her. She could not be that selfish as to disregarding their thoughts and consequences.
Gu Nian lowered her eyes and adjusted her breath in order to calm herself down.
She then looked up at the male producer. "Is it possible for you to confirm the schedule of that responsible party? We can't just keep on waiting."
The male producer was taken aback a little and immediately nodded with a smile on him. "Sure. Let me text him real quick."
Gu Nian started before he looked down again. "If he really can't make it, we can make a recording and send him a video or audio file for when he frees up––"
"That won't be necessary. I think I'd prefer to see it in person."
A gloomy and happy voice came from behind the conference room door that was left ajar.
Gu Nian's body stiffened.
She didn't move at all but Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan both looked up at the door curiously. The two producers, sitting next to the conference room table, sprung up like springs and turned toward the door at the same time.
A man in suit with his tie loosened and top button of his shirt unbuttoned looking chic walked inside the conference room briskly.
He stopped in front of the empty spot which was directly across from Gu Nian.
The two producers addressed him. "Boss Zheng."
