Rachel scratched her head as the silence carried on. She kind of envied Adam who had the sense to act like he had fallen asleep.
She glanced towards Aria who’s own head was beginning to droop as if she was going to fall asleep at any time, then turned her gaze to Lily who was sprawled out on the floor, looking as if the world was ending, her eyes hollow and vacant as she stared at the empty wrappers.
Shaking her head, Rachel decided to break the silence by raising her hand and loudly speaking.
"I hate to interrupt this family bonding slash therapy session but I have an important question. Where is everyone going to sleep tonight?"
Leo glanced back at his friends who he suddenly remembered were in the room, his face flushing a deep cherry red in embarrassment while Luna quickly took a step back herself, patting her clothing as if she was dusting herself off.
"Ah! T-that’s right. Sleeping arrangements. Let’s get that sorted."
Luna stuttered slightly as she panicked ever so slightly.
"We got three bedrooms. Lily is coming with me, Leo can take Adam with him, as for Rachel and Aria, they can have...the master bedroom."
Lily raised her head as she noticed that Luna had almost said her parents room but caught herself before the words had left her lips.
Crystal slowly stood up, hand gripping her arm still as she calmly but quietly remarked.
"I think I will head out now. I will see you guys around later..maybe."
Leo didn’t know what to say but thankfully it was Luna who chimed in.
"Who said anything about making you leave? You’re already here. You might as well stay. Besides, we have a lot to catch up on."
Crystal flinched, slightly unnerved by Luna’s gentle smile. While it was true that they often didn’t get along, Crystal still viewed Luna as one of her closest friends. With a slight smile of her own, Crystal nodded in affirmation.
She replied with a hint of gratitude in her words.
Luna glanced towards Leo and he immediately understood the assignment.
"I’ll be right back. Just getting some blankets for everyone."
With that, Leo once again left the room with slightly lighter steps. Aria felt like her eyelids had become extremely heavy and that it was hard to stay awake. However her eyes shot open when Rachel remarked.
"Instead of sleeping in other rooms, why don’t us girls all stay in one room like a sleepover while the boys can go fuck off somewhere"
Aria’s eyes stared at Rachel who was grinning at her own suggestion. Luna was frowning at that remark as she growled back
"What’s your angle Rachel? If you are saying this as a way to avoid suspicion if you touch Aria inappropriately, it’s not gonna work!"
Rachel put her hand to her chest in mock overexaggerated shock.
"You wound me, my lady! I have no intentions to do such a thing to our young winged friend."
Luna wasn’t buying it as she followed up with a deadpan tone
"Uh huh..So what is your intention then?"
Rachel laughed before she gave a thumbs up and with a dubious expression answered
"Of course to cop some Bunny cuddles!"
Silence filled the room as Luna slowly began to nod her head.
She asked with a sudden cheery tone that reeked of murderous intent before Luna lunged forward with a snarl.
"Yeah I am gonna kill her!"
Rachel immediately turned and bolted out of the room with Luna hot on her heels. Just as Rachel turned a corner, her eyes widened in surprise as Leo was there with a bundle of blankets and pillows in his arms. Unable to stop herself in time, she fully collided with him, knocking him over and collapsing on top of him.
Thankfully she happened to catch herself before her face collided with Leo’s head. Unfortunately for her, the position she ended up in was essentially a floor kabedon with Leo pinned beneath her. Before she could get up and continue to run, Luna turned the corner and saw it.
Rachel immediately began to panic as she lifted herself up off of Leo and waved her hands desperately.
"L-Luna..This is not what it looks like?"
Luna’s angry face became stony as if her emotions had fizzled out and died.
"And what does it look like Rachel?"
Luna asked with perfect calmness which made the other girl flinch as this was an unnerving experience. Luna took a slow deliberate step forward.
"I-I was just running and I didn’t see Cutie– I mean Leo there and I bumped into him. I totally didn’t mean to pounce on him!"
"So you admit that you pounced?"
"Hey what’s that behind you?!"
Rachel pointed to something behind Luna’s back and like a robot she turned her head. Taking that chance, Rachel attempted to run again but she barely got a foot before no matter how much she moved her feet, she couldn’t move. She felt a sharp pain at her waist. Slowly looking back she saw that Luna had grabbed her tail, preventing her from running away.
"You wanted to have a sleepover right? Let’s go back then. Leo, bring those blankets in a bit, I need to have a girls talk for a minute with this one.
Leo could only shakily nod his head as he sat up, clearly also unnerved by Luna’s sudden calm attitude. Luna turned back and started walking back to the living room, still clutching Rachel’s tail in a vice grip, literally dragging her along as she tried to escape by clinging to the walls or anything she could get her hands on but it was to no avail.
Rachel collapsed to the floor, her hands unable to find anything to grip as she reached out towards Leo, mouthing the words Save me!
In response Leo clapped his hands together and bowed his head. Rachel despaired as Leo’s idea to help was to pray for her soul.
With betrayal written all over her face, Rachel was dragged back around the corner.
