Spiritual Energy Rejuvenation: I Began Cultivating By Farming Chapter 240

240: Chapter 211 240: Chapter 211 The Earls and Viscounts practiced magic, and their bodies contained numerous impurities.

Beneath the powerful vitality of Qi, they felt extremely comfortable, as if their bodies were strengthening, more useful even than cultivating magic.

They sat on the ground, utilizing their magical powers to absorb this life-giving Qi.

Feeling black impurities in the form of gas emerging from their bodies, a foul stench wafted off of them.

Those sitting by their side did not shun them.

Some had just escaped from Immortal Venerable City, still carrying toxins in their bodies.

After absorbing the vitality of Qi, impurities likewise emerged from them, exuding that same odious smell.

After cultivating outside the city for a day and a night, the Earls and Viscounts felt their cultivation improve and their bodies grow stronger.

“Earl, we can’t find that devil, do we continue to wait here?” one of the Viscounts said.

“We’ve already come out, so let’s stay here a few more days!

However, we can’t stay here, this place could again be a target for terrorists, and with our abilities, we can’t defeat them.”

“I think the Earl is right.

How can we just stay outside a city gate?

I won’t dare to enter Immortal Venerable City again; what if another terrorist incident occurs?

It won’t do for us to be finished.”

Under the Earl’s leadership, they moved to the other side of the city gate.

Daring not to set up tents, they used the nimbleness of their bodies to climb into the trees of the forest just outside the city, each taking a position on branches spread a few meters apart.

If one of them encountered danger, the others could quickly come to their aid.

Having lived in the mountains for years, they had defenses against all sorts of insects, snakes, and made their own medicine to protect against them.

Apart from going into the city for dry goods and to drink from water sources, they spent the rest of their time in the forest.

That night, they heard loud noises from another part of the forest outside the city, the very one they had just left.

The Earl told everyone to stay put, as their hiding place might be compromised by terrorists too.

The commotion in that part of the forest died down after an hour, and they had no idea if the terrorists would come to their location, but they remained vigilant until daybreak.

When daylight came, the Earl’s agile body leapt from one tree to another like a monkey, and his fellow brothers followed suit.

As they approached the area where they had heard the noises the day before, they observed signs of a fight at the scene.

Believing the forests outside Immortal Venerable City were no longer safe, the Earl decided they could not stay there indefinitely.

Failing to find the devil to exact their revenge, he chose to lead the Viscounts back to the Stockade first.

The Viscounts felt that having come out to make a name for themselves, they should not give up so soon and were reluctant to return so quickly.

However, the Earl told them that they needed to report what had happened back at the Stockade, and share it with their people.

He also discussed the pros and cons with them, explaining that their enemies were not from the Cultivation World, but rather certain devils acting on their own accord.

They needed to take back what they had seen and heard, to inform their family and encourage them to be even more secretive, to avoid being ambushed in the future.

They also had to expose some dark organizations that were treating their clansmen like pigs, selling them off as beasts of burden.

Upon hearing the Earl’s words, the Viscounts agreed that he was right; even living in seclusion in a Foreign Country, their safety was not guaranteed.

Leading the group of young men, the Earl returned to their Stockade and met with Gefengla.

Gefengla, upon seeing the Earl and the Viscounts return to the Stockade, fixed her eyes firmly on the Earl, her gaze filled with affection.

“Earl, I’ve been so worried during the days you were away.

Did you kill that devil?”

Hearing Gefengla speak in such a way, the Viscounts laughed, with one of them saying, “Gefengla, your concern isn’t for us, is it?

“It seems we shouldn’t be the third wheel here, we have things to attend to,” another Viscount remarked as he prepared to leave.

“Perhaps Gefengla’s question was for me,” said a Viscount who harbored feelings for Gefengla.

“Come on, can’t you see that Gefengla’s eyes have been on the Earl the whole time?”

The Viscount who wanted to argue was quickly pulled away by the rest.

Gefengla stood there with a flushed face, waiting for the Earl to speak.

After the Viscounts had left, the Earl turned to Gefengla and spoke softly, “We encountered that devil, but were unable to kill him.

We also faced some dangers and found out that it’s not the people from the Cultivation World who are against us.

However, our Stockade here is no longer safe, we need to be more vigilant against secret attacks.”

“Why is that devil so wicked?

We have no quarrels with him.

Earl, can you tell me what you heard while outside?”

“We came across our clanswoman, this girl, being sold like an animal.”

“How can there be such evil in the Cultivation World?

Isn’t there a set of rules?

That’s despicable; how could our people be sold off like animals?”

“Yes, I’m also outraged by such events, but we lack the power to rescue them.

Luckily, the master who bought them treats them well.”

“Why didn’t you bring our clan members back home?”

“After being bought, and subsequently saved by him, they chose to serve their master for life, feeling that staying by his side is better than coming back here.”

“That’s good,” Gefengla said, relieved as a woman, fearful that another woman might cling to the Earl and vie for her beloved’s heart.
