SSS Ranked Transmigration: Taming Beauties and The Beasts! Chapter 220

In silent agreement, they launched themselves at each other once more, the third phase of their battle promising to be even more explosive.

In that fleeting second before their flames collided again, the onlookers realized that though each combatant had escalated their power to a staggering level, they remained evenly matched. The notion stirred awe and unease in the hearts of everyone watching. If this was only a spar, how cataclysmic could a real battle between them become?

Foxfire clashed with dragonfire in a brilliant conflagration, each fighter pouring their magic and might into every strike, every counter, every weaving step.

And even now, neither side could truly claim dominion. It was as if the entire courtyard hung on a razor's edge, waiting for the next evolution of this unstoppable duel.

Sparks crackled across the courtyard, glowing embers drifting like fireflies in the gathering twilight.

The heat radiating from both combatants was stifling, causing those who remained to stand well back, fanning themselves or erecting minor magical wards against the scorching air.

A hush had settled over the audience as everyone sensed that Yaoyun and Wushuang were approaching the final crescendo of their battle.

Yaoyun stood poised on one side of the courtyard, both her foxfire tails swaying behind her. Their spectral flames danced with an otherworldly brilliance, and her entire form pulsed with the power of her two-tailed state.

She hadn't imagined that a spar could push her this far, but Wushuang's tenacity demanded that she rise to the challenge.

On the opposite side, Wushuang's half-draconic transformation had taken on a new level of intensity. Scales glimmered along his neck and shoulders, while ridges at his elbows seemed to glow with molten light.

The fires around him swirled in a tight corona, the heat so potent that the courtyard stones faintly reddened, as if at the edge of being molten. Each breath he took seemed to stoke the blaze further.

For a long moment, neither fighter moved. Their eyes locked, each understanding that the next exchange could decide the bout. The crowd held its collective breath too, aware that these two had been escalating blow by blow.

Even the elders such as Old Lao, Old Ji, and the rest appeared riveted, though flickers of apprehension crossed their features. Both of these young prodigies were inching close to lethal power.

Wushuang was the first to break the silence. He inhaled, the muscles in his chest rippling, then exhaled a plume of superheated air that caused the courtyard's temperature to spike again.

"You fight well," he said, voice rough from the prolonged use of his flames. "Better than I anticipated. But let's not prolong this any further. We're both waiting to see who can truly stand at the peak."

Yaoyun inclined her head, her expression resolute. Perspiration beaded along her temple, yet her posture remained regal and unwavering. She offered no verbal reply as only a quiet nod that conveyed understanding.

A flicker of foxfire flared up around her feet. With her newly tripled stats, she charged across the courtyard at breathtaking speed. Wushuang met her head-on, leaving a fiery comet-trail behind him.

When they collided, it was as if twin meteors had crashed. The shockwave rattled loose tiles from the fortress's ramparts, sending them clattering to the ground. Some of the onlookers cried out, shielding themselves from the shower of debris.

In the midst of the chaos, Yaoyun and Wushuang locked arms. Her foxfire surged down her limbs in brilliant coils; his dragonfire flared up in scorching torrents. The courtyard floor cracked beneath their feet from the sheer pressure of their clash.

For a moment, it was a test of raw strength as Yaoyun's two-tailed might against Wushuang's advanced half-draconic power.

With a roar, Wushuang broke the grapple, unleashing a sweeping burst of dragonfire that fanned out in a wide arc. Yaoyun's eyes widened; she crossed her forearms, summoning a vortex of foxfire to shield herself.

The two flames clashed in midair, whirling in a bright maelstrom that sent tendrils of flame rushing outward. A gust of furnace-hot wind slammed into her, forcing her back a step, but she held her ground.

Seizing the opening, she retaliated with an Advanced Foxfire technique, shaping her flames into a lance-like spear that she hurled at Wushuang's chest. The projectile streaked forward, illuminating the courtyard in a fleeting blaze of violet-blue.

He countered by wreathing his arm in red-hot dragonfire and swatting the lance aside, but the collision carved a molten groove in the stone at his feet, showing just how close the blow had come to piercing him.

Searing smoke curled around the two fighters. Gasping for breath, Yaoyun steeled herself. She could feel her own reserves draining after so many consecutive high-level attacks. Yet the adrenaline and the raw force of her two-tailed transformation buoyed her forward.

'I can't let up now,' she told herself, ignoring the burning ache in her arms.

Meanwhile, Wushuang's gaze had grown sharper. He rolled his shoulders, and the scales covering them flared with a renewed glow.

With a ground-shaking stomp, he summoned a vortex of dragonfire around his waist, then twisted at the hips, hurling a wheel of flame in Yaoyun's direction. It raced toward her, spinning so fast that the edges whirred like a saw blade of pure fire.

Yaoyun sprang into the air, her foxfire tails trailing behind her. Flames licked at her heels, but she escaped the wheel's cutting arc by inches.

Hovering momentarily above Wushuang, she conjured Foxfire Explosions in both palms as two seething orbs of concentrated flame. She flung them downward, the spheres spiraling like twin comets descending on Wushuang.

His response was immediate. The ridges on his elbows gleamed, and with a powerful thrust of both arms, he shot twin columns of dragonfire upward. The resultant clash was deafening.

The courtyard lit up as if struck by lightning, and chunks of stone were blasted from the ground, leaving craters where they once stood. Yaoyun managed a deft backward flip, landing gracefully a dozen paces away despite the tremors.

It was a testament to both fighters' stamina that they still stood, albeit breathing heavily. The courtyard was now pockmarked with scorch marks, shards of stone, and lingering embers. A swirling haze of ash and flame hung in the air.

Across the way, Old Ji and Old Lao exchanged a knowing look. They could see that neither Yaoyun nor Wushuang was content to end the fight in a draw. Their gazes shifted to the other Dragon clan and Fox clan elders, who wore similar expressions of concern.

'This is still supposed to be a spar,' their eyes seemed to say. 'We can't let them go too far.'

Yet the two combatants hadn't noticed the elders' silent warnings. Their focus was entirely on each other.

Wushuang's half-transformed aura flared to new heights as fire swirled around him like a storm of sparks. He let out a low growl, the tip of a draconic horn pushing through his thick red hair, the sign of him delving deeper into his lineage's might.

"I can't afford to hold back," he said in a strained voice, each syllable vibrating with raw energy.

Yaoyun, meanwhile, felt her second tail flicker with an almost electric intensity. She brought her hands together, and arcs of violet flame wreathed her entire body, coalescing into a single, pulsating orb of foxfire in front of her palms. Her hair whipped around her face, stirred by the fierce magical currents.

"Let's end this," she murmured. Even as she said it, she was aware of how close she stood to her limit. The air around her shimmered, straining to contain the roiling energy.

They both moved simultaneously, each preparing a final, decisive strike. Wushuang lunged forward, channeling every scrap of draconic fire into a searing punch that would unleash a conflagration upon impact.

Yaoyun met his charge, releasing the orb of advanced foxfire she'd been cultivating. The sheer power behind these two attacks was daunting as embers spun away in frantic eddies, and the onlookers braced for what might be a catastrophic collision.

Then, just as the two attacks were about to meet, a sudden shockwave of spiritual force exploded between them, forcing the fighters apart. Blinding arcs of light crackled, and a resounding boom echoed across the courtyard.

In an instant, Elders from both sides as Dragon clan and Fox clan manifested in the middle, forming a bulwark of protective wards. Old Ji's eyes blazed with authority, and Old Lao tapped his cane, unleashing a ripple of ancient energy that pinned both Yaoyun and Wushuang where they stood.

"That's enough!" Old Ji thundered, his voice reverberating off the courtyard walls. "This is a spar, not a life-or-death struggle!"

Panting heavily, Wushuang's half-transformation began to recede, the scales vanishing back into his skin, the horn shrinking away.

Yaoyun's second tail flickered uncertainty before dissipating into faint wisps of foxfire. A hush settled over the courtyard once more, broken only by the fighters' ragged breathing.

For several heartbeats, neither Yaoyun nor Wushuang spoke. They locked gazes again, but this time there was no hostility, only respect. Each recognized the other's formidable strength.
