Along with Gu En came the Gu Family’s nanny. After laying down Gu En’s belongings, the nanny scanned the dormitory and clearly seemed dissatisfied. No one in the dorm paid any attention to Gu En’s return; everyone was too involved with their own business, oblivious to her presence.
"Set down the things and go back home. Tell my parents that I’m fine on my own in school. I’ve missed too much class; I can’t afford to delay any further." Gu En told the nanny to leave after she finished unpacking everything.
He Zhilan was sitting at her desk, engrossed in a book. When Gu En entered, she glanced at her and immediately noticed a new tattoo of a black rose on Gu En’s right calf. She hadn’t seen Gu En in a month – during that period, she had also chopped off her long hair and was now sporting a shoulder-length style with curls at the ends.
In the span of only a month, it was clear that Gu En had lost a significant amount of weight. Without a trace of makeup on her face, she looked somewhat pale.
"Miss, I’ll go now. I will send food over for you in the evening! Why are you so eager to rush back to school when you’re still weak? "Exactly." Chen Xiting chimed in from the side, "If she doesn’t bully us, we should be thanking heaven and earth! We common folks don’t dare to offend Miss Gu of the prestigious Gu Family, do we? If the Gu family takes advantage of us, won’t we just be left dead and unclaimed?"
The Gu Family’s nanny turned pale with anger at the mockery from He Zhilan and Chen Xiting. If it weren’t for Gu En’s impatient dismissal, who knew whether the nanny would have started a quarrel with them right there and then in the dormitory.
