It seems that Shaohua isn’t behaving strangely at all, it’s just mom making a fuss.
How could Shaohua possibly do anything to let her down? Mom is overthinking.
Hearing footsteps, she quickly put her phone on the table in fright.
"How is it? Did you find anything?" Mom Song walked in briskly.
"Mom, you scared me!" Song Yi’s face turned pale with fright; she thought it was Shaohua coming in.
"Why are you such a scaredy-cat, so useless!" Mom Song snorted coldly and walked over to pick up the phone on the table.
"Mom, put it down quickly. I’ve already checked and there’s nothing there." Song Yi stopped her mom, worried that Huo Shaohua was about to come in.
If he found out, that would be terrible.
"He’s still downstairs, I’ll just take a look." Ignoring Song Yi’s objections, Mom Song opened the phone and started checking immediately.
She just didn’t believe this Huo Shaohua had no secrets at all.

"This is impossible." Mom Song furrowed her brows in thought.

"He’s pretty good, just worried about other women seducing him."
"That won’t happen." Song Yi smiled confidently.
"Silly girl, being too confident isn’t good either. Shaohua is such a catch, just because he doesn’t mess around doesn’t mean women won’t," Mom Song earnestly told Song Yi.
"So what should I do?" Song Yi bit her lips, starting to worry after hearing her mom’s words.
Her friends had been reminding her too, that Shaohua was a rare good man.
"Let’s finalize your marriage this time, and get married soon."
"I don’t want to get married yet," Song Yi frowned, not wanting to be constrained by the Huo family’s rules.
"What are you afraid of? Once you’re married, he’ll still listen to you. Whether to have kids or not is up to you."

She didn’t want her daughter to suffer like she did when she was young, finding a in-law worse than her own family.

The mother and daughter were so engrossed in their conversation that they didn’t notice Huo Shaohua standing at the door.
He had heard everything they said.
