Han Qingsong was truly the first one who was able to nonchalantly say that he wanted to build a house. Han Qingyun wanted to pay homage to this epic master.
Han Qingsong didn’t think about these things. He was away from home all year round and didn’t know the marketing conditions in the village. In the army, he always did what was ordered of him to do. Besides, the troops were numerous and powerful, consisting of strong young men. If there really was something wrong, all they needed to do was spend a little more effort into solving the problems.

So when he thought of building a house, he acted immediately.
Building a house was not merely a family’s business. He must first apply for a homestead with the Brigade and make a report of the materials reserved for building a house such as wood, straw, mudbrick, etc. He would also have to apply for permission to purchase bricks and tiles.
The other villagers basically did not consider bricks and tiles when building a house. One reason was that they were too expensive to buy and the other was that they could not obtain a note of approval through connections.
Even if bricks and tiles were not used, other materials like wood and stalks weren’t that easy to obtain either.
At the moment, everything was about collective farming work as each family’s private plot could only be divided into one or two corners of the multi-sided land. Hence,most families could only rely on the Production Team to distribute the materials.
Even collecting stalks and straw were difficult, let alone wood.
The roof must be bundled with straw before it was used to cover the beam frame. Then, it should be layered with yellow mud, thatch or wheat straw. The role of this straw was equivalent to the rafters. If there was not enough wood, it would be typically replaced by straw. After all, the cost of straw was much lower than that of wood.
But even so, with so many families in the Production Team, it was not that easy to gather them all on their own.
However, Han Qingsong thought that since he wanted to build a house, he should build it with bricks and tiles. The earthen house would easily collapse in heavy rain and it would be unsafe. Plus, it would have to be repaired several times a year, which was honestly extra work for everyone involved.
Han Qingsong went to Han Yongfang, “Uncle, I want to line up to apply for a homestead to build a house.”
