She didn’t believe that they could write the words out.

Maisui also started quickly.
When they were still lackeys for their youngest aunt and uncle, the two of them glanced through a couple of words.
Dawang was also murderously holding up his pencils.
Sanwang merely stared!
Xiaowang looked around but decided, “I’ll just follow mother.”
Lin Lan hugged him, “Okay.”
Finally, after they were done writing, Lin Lan looked at it.
Maisui didn’t write ‘south’ correctly, whereas Erwang messed up both the words ‘south’ and ‘west’.
Sanwang couldn’t write a single word.
To Lin Lan’s surprise, Dawang actually wrote all the words correctly. It’s just that his writing looked even worse than his father’s!
Dawang raised his eyebrows proudly and snorted softly. Naturally, he had to show that he deserved to be the eldest brother!
Now that there were four children left in the voting, minus Xiaowang since he decided to opt out, the votes would be split at a 3 to 2 ratio depending on the children’s factions. Still, the decision would lie with Dawang.
His choice would decide where they reside in the future.
Erwang said to Sanwang, “Sanwang, our eldest brother wants to live at the back of the village which is the farthest from the school. In winter, if you get up late, the teacher would punish you and father would beat you too. Don’t you think that the east end of the village is the closest to the school?”
Sanwang listened to the comment and realised that his second brother was right.
Dawang glared at Sanwang, seemingly saying that if he were to betray him, a fight was going to break out between the two of them.
Lin Lan was rather happy to see them struggle. Friction and brawls among children was also one of the fastest ways to improve their bonds with each other. Plus, they would have to think about how to solve the problem on their own.
Lin Lan asked Han Qingsong, “Do you have to go to work tomorrow?”
Han Qingsong nodded, “The result will be announced tomorrow.”
When Dawang heard that his evil father would be going to work tomorrow, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that they would not be practising tomorrow.
In the end, Sanwang was forced by his eldest brother’s domineering power and temptation. But, his eldest brother did say that he would play war games with him in the future, so Sanwang happily continued to rely on him.
Dawang said, “We can build the house right next to this.”
??? Wasn’t he talking about building it at the back of the village?
Instead, building the house at the back of the village was the most inappropriate place to build the house. However, Dawang just wanted to pull their legs and merely suggested that area as a joke.
Dawang raised his eyebrows proudly.
It was Lin Lan’s intention to build a house near the area Dawang chose. It was convenient to build a house close to their current home to move their items and it was also close to the Brigade headquarters. Hence, it would be easy to hold meetings or receive the distributed items. It was also close to the west river and the vegetable garden, so it would benefit them to grow vegetables there.
Although Erwang and Maisui didn’t get their wish of building the house at the east end, at the very least, they didn’t end up at the back of the village. Therefore, they were quite satisfied, “Fine.”
With that, the issue was settled.
“Now you have more jobs to do— go out and pick up some stones when you have time,” Han Qingsong instructed.
If it were up to Sanwang, he would say that picking up stones was way better than going to school.
