Sanwang refused to get into the bed and he was still drunk, continuing to sing and dance.
Dawang had to slap the child’s backside twice before Sanwang obediently got into bed.
Though, he couldn’t stop his mouth from spewing nonsense.
After having some ginger soup, he didn’t vomit, but he was also hovering between the lines of sleeping and remaining conscious. Instead, he started to cause a fuss, singing the plays that he knew in a very annoying voice.
He sang everything that he heard before on the radio, no matter the genre or his preference.
At some point, he pointed at Han Qingsong and called him a treacherous minister. Pointing at Lin Lan, he called her his beloved consort whereas Dawang became Wu Song. He then pointed at Erwang and called him a traitorous consort while Maisui was deemed to be Wu Dalang.
While patting his chest, he kicked his legs, “Where is the Red Child? Bring him forth to me!”(1)

After struggling for a long time during the second half of the night, Lin Lan finally fell asleep exhausted in Han Qingsong’s arms.
The next day, the family got up late.
Han Qingsong didn’t get up and blow his whistle for morning exercises. The whole village was curious— it wasn’t snowing and there wasn’t anything in particular to do, so why weren’t there exercises?
Sanwang was the first to wake up. The room was still pitch black, the straw curtains hadn’t been removed as both his Eldest Brother and Second Brother were still sound asleep.
He jumped up as if he was a carp. Aiya, why is my head so dizzy and painful?
He looked at his Eldest Brother. That mutt must have beaten him a couple of times while he slept. Hmph, and he says that I’m untrustworthy.
Sanwang smacked his lips, confused as to why there was a lingering sense of sweetness and spiciness that remained. Could it be from the mutton he ate last night that was making him regurgitate like a cow?
He muttered slightly and held back his urine. Hurriedly, he put on his clothes and got off the kang to pee, only to find that there was also a straw curtain hanging in the west room. It was then he realised that his entire family hadn’t gotten up.
Director Han sleeping in was practically a sign of the sun rising from the west.
Sanwang tiptoed to the door of the west room and peeped through the crack of the door. There, he found his mother wrapped in his father’s arms, sleeping soundly.
Then, he looked at Han Qingsong again and met a pair of dark eyes.
Because of the curtains blocking the light that resulted in the darkness in the room, Han Qingsong’s eyes were particularly inconspicuous and deep. Sanwang was so frightened that he quickly pretended that nothing had happened before slipping away.
His mouth was so dry, so he quickly poured some water from the thermos and mixed it with some cold water from the teapot. He poured a large cup of water into his throat to quench his thirst.
He sat at the table for a while and felt like something was amiss. Nevertheless, he was not the type who liked to think. Even if he was merely sitting down, he wouldn’t ever engage in thought-provoking activities in his life
