However, Lin Lan could tell at a glance that Old Lady Han was more biassed now, seemingly trying to cut costs by minimising the amount of privileges the First and Second Family’s wives and children could own.

Second Sister-in-Law Han was still using chopsticks to pick apart the food, trying to find a single piece of meat from it, but the results were all cabbage, so where was the meat?
She shouted, “Eldest Sister-in-law, didn’t the Third Family bring a lot of meat dishes? Why don’t we see any of them? I saw that there were roasted potatoes, chicken and pork skin, so why didn’t you bring them over?”

Second Sister-in-law Han then curled her lips and stayed silent.
Nevertheless, Han Jinyu went to the north kang and looked all over the table, seeing two different dishes in the two bowls. At first glance, she could tell that these were dishes that Lin Lan made.
But no matter what, the food they had on this kang and the main kang didn’t amount to the portion of food that Lin Lan had brought!
She immediately bypassed Old Lady Han and Second Brother Han, jumped off the kang and rushed to the main room. Seeing Eldest Sister-in-law Han, Lin Lan and the others happily eating below, she screamed, “You guys are going too far! I can’t believe that you’re secretly eating all the good food here!”

Second sister-in-law Han also rushed over when she heard her words, “Aiya, Eldest Sister-in-law, why are you eating all this alone?”
Old Lady Han was also angry when she heard it, “What’s going on? Why didn’t you bring me the big fish and meat brought by Old Three?”
When Eldest Brother Han saw this, he hurried to the main room to serve it, but Han Qingsong held his arm.

Seeing her Third Brother’s behaviour, Han Jinyu could clearly see that he was protecting Lin Lan and the Eldest Sister-in-law. Han Qingsong was rarely one to judge someone’s shortcomings subjectively, let alone accusing others of embarrassing someone else, no matter if it was done directly or behind their backs. It was the first time for him to say something to Han Jinyu.
